Beth Mowins to do play by play Saturday.

With Joey Galloway on color, who I don't recall hearing before. A shame IMO, this confirms me wanting to listen to the radio feed.

[Ed-Ace: I changed the thread title, as Beth Mowins is in my opinion a solid announcer—especially for a noon game on ESPN2—and the immediate parallel drawn to Pam Ward, a far inferior play-by-play announcer, is potentially rooted in something I'm not comfortable seeing on this blog.

Joey Galloway as the color commentator should probably be your biggest concern here. Leaving the rest of the thread up unchanged since it at least contains some pertinent information.]

TV on mute, headphones on listening to the radio broadcast. ***EDIT*** Since sexism was brought up I'll clarify. No problem with Mowins (though she's not one of my favorites). My problem lies with JG. I'd rather this be a BTN game.

And it's just a big coincidence that female sports broadcasters are awful at their jobs. Come on, a lot of men just don't like women treading into the domain of sports. Life won't be getting any easier for them.

At the moment if you go to mgoblue.com/allaccess, it auto redirects to mgoblue.com/collegesportslive, and there's an annoying autoplay vid. Then you have to pick which link you want. Maybe not much of an issue if there's only one event on the day, but if there's more, then that's a little extra time.

I prefer to go to the football schedule page, where you can click the "listen" button in the game box, which will open up the audio (radio) feed.

I know it's of little comfort but Beth really is better than Pam Ward. Watch highlights from the 49-3 game over Sparty from 2002 and listen to Ward say, "touchdown Michigan," in that painfully bland, monotone voice and it doesn't get any worse than that.

Fuck Joey Galloway. He was on whatever stupid ESPN college football show today saying how Michigan has no talent. I understand bringing up plausible reasons Michigan might struggle. But, if you're going to talk shit, at least know what the hell you are talking about.

He defended it by saying something like "On field results determine talent, not recruiting stars."  Guarantee if someone asks him about OSU's offensive line he'd try to argue they are talented, even though we have no idea, going by his own metrics.

He certainly did. It was on College Football Live. Also, Mark Packer said on siriusxm radio last night, that OSU and MSU have "different kinds of athletes" than Michigan has. I took that as a nicer way of saying Michigan has a lot less talent than MSU/OSU. I get that the O-line was bad, but it's not like we are fielding scrubs. JUST WIN. Thats the only way to shut up these asshats.
