If you want to guarantee to get yourself on TV just make your game the first one of the year. Because there are thousands of suckers like me who will watch it because it's FOOBAW

If Michigan and ND, the two winningest programs in College Football opened up the D1 college football season the way Army/Navy close it.

Problem is, that game would never be moved off a Saturday (I think)...so unless we were allowed to start practice a week early, play the Saturday before "Opening Saturday" (aka today), then have a bye on "Opening Saturday"...it wouldn't work.

...certainly didn't think of that.

Would never happen anyway.

I just always thought it would be cool to start the season with ND and end it with OSU. Then I would take the daydream a little further and my Michigan arrogance would come out say "we should be the first game of the year...in ALL of college football."

Nonetheless, I'm back to reality and just ready to watch football.

Good point about the students, while I think students think they should drive way more decisions than they actually should...I'd agree 100% with this one. Nonetheless, isn't OSU on quarters where their students aren't back until the conference season?

I suppose it is somehow appropriate that this is Roos Field, being that "Roos" is an old surname in Dutch and Low German that means "Rose". It doesn't get much more red than that.

With that, EWU gets a thirty yard gift from two PI calls on consecutive plays, but sputters a bit after that. They are on track for 160-ish yards in just this quarter if the pace held, but let's see what happens on 4th and 3, right?

Yup. Sack.

East Washington already burned a timeout. And sure 1st half ones aren't as important as 2nd half ones. But still, burning timeouts is one of my biggest pet peeves. IMO it may be more beneficial to keep the timeout for later and just take a 5 yard penalty. So what do you think? Would you like to see Michigan adopt a strategy like that?

My friend's cousin is Cooper Kupp, he plays WR for Eastern Washington. I went with him to see them play @ Montana last year during a Michigan bye week.

I might go with him to see them play this year as well, but it would be during the NW game. Depends on how Michigan's season looks at that point, and what time the Michigan NW game is.

good commentary about the college football playoff here... six teams with two getting a bye sounds nice. the big boys can do better than four teams, especially considering that the fbs has twenty-four teams in their playoff...

The Eagles are getting close to an average of 6.5 yards per offensive snap, and it's OK if the other team runs to politely ask them to fall down for you. They might not do it, but you can ask at least.

Seriously though, the Eagles are now pushing 8.0 yards per rush after that last drive. We might be in for some Big 12-ish figures by the end of this game.

and the 'Green' talk by Cowherd, I switched over 15 minutes ago to the Little League WS game between Chicago and Las Vegas.

The talent level of these two teams is amazing.  Chicago now just re-took the lead in a see-saw game 7-5 by scoring 3 in their half of the inning; they're just 3 outs from winning the US National Championship.

Kick Coward out of the studio, please. The douche can't stay consistent. Plus he's a no talent, plagiarizing, hack, who has no business or creditability to talk about anything of substantial value.
