OT- final what you drinking thread of OT season 2014.
What are you guys drinking to celebrate the end of ot season? Maybe even Voltron is Handsome will upvote it!
I currently have a few bottles of Little Sumpin' Extra I was able to find today! I have heard it's awesome, so I'm excited to give it a shot.
Edited - I am turning this into a posbang too. UPVOTES FOR EVERYONE!

Just so everyone is aware, "Friday Night Drinking Thead" and "Saturday Night Drinking" thread type things are usually full of sidebar game discussion and would likely survive the cut in Non-OT Season, so they won't disappear totally. We'll just be on the lookout for, say, the "Wednesday Night Drinking" thread, although if you care to talk about what you are drinking in the MACtion threads in the middle of the week, that's fine. Actually, drinking during MACtion helps things make a little more sense sometimes.

Thank GOD. This blog would die if the weekend drinking threads went away.

Did Suh deserve a penalty for this hit on Henne? If so, why? If not, why not?

To my eye he takes one step, lowers his head and hits him. That deserves a penalty to me (a Lions fan), but not front page ESPN coverage, the typical "OMG he's pure evil" sort of banter, or a fine.
August 23rd, 2014 at 5:34 PM ^
I agree. It apeared to be a run of the mill roughing the passer that is being blown out of proportion due to Suh's rep.

I am sipping on a delicious glass of Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Barleywine. It's my first time having it, and it lives up to the hype. Probably going to have a Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier with dinner, and then have the other glass of the BSBB afterwords as a nightcap.

so jealous. I want to find some BCBS this year so bad, its going to be my goal.... Even if I need to travel to Chicago this winter...
August 23rd, 2014 at 5:10 PM ^
I got lucky. A local growler bar had been saving a keg. I would like to be able to pick up a couple of the BC varieties on Black Friday.

Chicago has some great beer - Half Acre, Revolution, Finch's, Goose Island, etc... Apparently you just went to atrocious restaurants.
August 23rd, 2014 at 8:32 PM ^
...Pipeworks and (not in Chicago, but biggest distro area) 3 Floyds.
August 23rd, 2014 at 8:33 PM ^
Chicago has the beer game on point right now. If you like IPAs go to half acre, a great variety of good beers - revolution. Plus if you're in city proper, you get a great distro

Half Acre is a rising star, who their head brewers are all trained by the best breweries out west.
Revolution is amazing
Pipeworks was named the best brewery in the country this past year
Piece is always a staple at the world beer cup
Lagunitas just opened up a brewing facility that's over 100,000 square feet
Three Floyds makes some of the best beers in the world, and the hottest ipa in the world right now, Zombie dust.
I haven't even discussed ale syndicate, 5 rabbits, lake effect, off color, or finch.
Chicago also has Hopleaf, Map Room and Bangers and Lace which are consistently on the best beer bars list. Plus other places like Kumas Corner which has amazing burgers and an even better beer listing.
Chicago is one of the best beer cities in the country. I love my michigan beers, but outside of Shorts and Odd Side I would rather have Chicago. Next time you're there, go to Piece, Or Kumas. They will show you some kick ass beers.

Blanton's is sublime. If you've never tasted Knob Creek, I'd highly recommend it, as I would Evan Williams 7-year-old. Elbows up, Maize Mate.

BUT this is a Michigan blog, so.... I'm currently drinking my favorite malbec. Afterwards, I may open a nicely aged tempranillo.

Holy crap, I'd kill for a Dos Equis at a children's birthday party. Even if it came in a juice box.
I always have to drink what the kids are drinking, which is usually something smurf blue or barney purple, and sticky as flypaper.
August 23rd, 2014 at 11:19 PM ^
I'm too low on the totem pole to upvote you, but I will in spirit. I'd kill for a Dos Equis just on principle.
