Guaranteed 2015 Season Tickets
Im sure some other people must have also received this email a few minutes ago but it looks like they are send out options for season tickets next year if you bought a 2014 Go Blue or Family Pack of tickets.
You are guaranteed up to two (2) 2015 Michigan Football season tickets if you choose to purchase them.
In addition:
• Up to two (2) season tickets may be purchased
• Seats will be assigned in the end zone
In early September, we will follow up with you to see your interest in becoming a Season Ticket Holder.
Thanks again for your support of Michigan Football.
We look forward to seeing you this season, and hopefully next season too!
Its pretty tempting with the schedule next year but I live near Grand Rapids and think 7 trips to Ann Arbor is a little much. Also im a fan of sitting mid level in the corners or sidelines and not being stuck in row 70+ endzone.

I'll go to the MSU, OSU, Oregon St, and Northwestern games and you can go to the other 3 and we can split the cost down the middle! Deal?
August 14th, 2014 at 2:47 PM ^
you throw in a pair of binoculars and you got a deal!
August 14th, 2014 at 2:51 PM ^
I just got the email also. I think this suggests some very real worry due to a mass cancellation of season tickets, which I gave up a couple of seasons back myself.
I'd like to think a couple of winning seasons might make a difference, but I'm not so sure that what we are seeing isn't due to some long term changes in the way people get their entertainment. And Michigan is not alone...happening at many other schools.
August 14th, 2014 at 2:52 PM ^
You are also guaranteed to have to pay the PSL if you want to buy those season tickets. So I don't see how this is a big deal.
August 14th, 2014 at 2:54 PM ^
you only pay that in your second year of seaosn tickets and onwards...basically they're saying if you spend 150 on tickets this year you get tickets. it's the same 150 dollars you'd spend otherwise to join the ticket interest list, but in this case since you are subjecting yourself to the app st. game (or at least purchasing the tickets to it) you get to have that 150 count towards season tickets.
August 14th, 2014 at 3:06 PM ^
That's very logical but how do you know they won't decide that the 150 dollar donation won't still be mandatory, only that the Go Blue Pack ensures the ticket availability? We don't.
August 14th, 2014 at 3:36 PM ^
I can almost guarantee they are going to make anyone that takes this deal pay the PSD by January 31st 2015 just like the rest of the current season ticket holders.
To me the only reason your first year PSD was not required is because you already donated the $500 (now $150) to get on the list.
I highly doubt that they would consider the tickets bought this year as the donation for next year. If that is the case they will have some pissed off current season ticket holders next year unless our PSD is waived as well.

Annnd deleted. I've had it with this athletic department and their horse shit. Didn't buy season tickets this year and won't next year either. Hoke's support of the York thug has only steeled my commitment bit to give another dime to the athletic side of this university. Beyond supporting rapists and brutes, every other "action" in the last two years has been at the detriment of the fans and alumni. Why should we continue to give money to a side of the university that reflects poorly on the overall goal of the university?

I've read on here in a long time.
And that's saying something.
BTW the guy who first supported Gibbons? Your screen name and avatar both honor him.

really? If Hoke wasn't a vaunted "Michigan Man" he would've been canned long ago. He is doing the University of Michigan I disservice by staying and letting the program get out of control, we look like a goddamn SEC team now. York's cowardice has been All over the national media and THAT is what people are seeing from Michigan.

An Ace Williams Chat Sports article to prove your point. You're doing a solid job of getting a deep negging today.

And you're gone.

Good, C'sonte York is a thug and anyone who believes otherwise is an idiot. Someone who cold cocks someone who isn't looking is a thug and brute.

Enjoy!

This year and had them the 3 previous years? How do I get then back next year? Do I still have priority points?
August 14th, 2014 at 3:11 PM ^
Since you dumped them and I renewed mine, they are giving your points to me for having to suffer through a bad schedule. Also, I get a Lego movie.
August 14th, 2014 at 3:37 PM ^
Indeed it is.
August 14th, 2014 at 2:58 PM ^
From what I can tell, you are not required to donate $500 to get on the interest list so this is a good deal. The PSD for the end zone is $75 per seat (normally waived year 1), so you save $350 or approximately the cost of the ticket packs.
August 14th, 2014 at 3:04 PM ^
Maybe they should just lower ticket prices instead of doing all these gimmicks.
August 14th, 2014 at 3:15 PM ^
The whole price elasticity thing escapes them.
August 14th, 2014 at 4:19 PM ^
It's also apparent nobody around the AD has heard of diminishing marginal utility. One example is the sentiment about uniformz.
At first people are thinking "alright, throwback uniformz, kind of a cool idea." Then we're all like "what the hell is up with this bumblebee shit???" From this point, people are saying "why more lame uniformzzz every other game??" Uniformz then quickly lose any and all appeal. Now it's like "uniformz for Penn State? That sucks, but no stopping DB when there's extra cash involved."
August 14th, 2014 at 3:06 PM ^
Hits the nail on the head. They want people there lower the prices, lower the seat Liscense, or get rid of the seat Liscense. The greed is evident right now.
August 14th, 2014 at 3:08 PM ^
There's no way I'm ever not going to use stubhub for every game again. I'll pay a fraction of the price, and get much better seats.
August 14th, 2014 at 3:16 PM ^
Don't even use stubhub just go to the game and get them there. Stubhub is part of the problem.
August 14th, 2014 at 3:16 PM ^
Maybe you got a different email than me, but mine only offered the season tickets if I purchased the "Michigan Football Fan Choice Pack". The pack:
Starting as low as $150, each Fan Choice Pack includes Appalachian State (Aug. 30), plus your choice of any two additional home games (excluding Penn State).
Emphasis mine. How long until they just start giving away App St tickets?
August 14th, 2014 at 3:21 PM ^
did you purchase any of the packs this year?
August 14th, 2014 at 3:24 PM ^
No, I'm out of state and I'm not going to be able to make it to any games this year, and no one I know is interested in the non-Penn St. games.
August 14th, 2014 at 9:49 PM ^
Is that $150 for 1 seat? $50/game?
August 14th, 2014 at 3:30 PM ^
Not for us! We trek in from Maryland to see every game. You can't keep us away.
Go Blue!!
August 14th, 2014 at 3:55 PM ^
it's football games or having a baby.....sadly my wife is leaning towards motherhood.
August 14th, 2014 at 4:12 PM ^
Well it doesn't sound like YOU are having the baby right?
I kid. Mostly.
August 14th, 2014 at 4:10 PM ^
from what the Tigers or RedWings do. First things first is it gets money in your hands sooner, never a bad business plan. And allows you to gauge your demand for next season earlier and allows you to plan accordingly for next season.
However, the bigger issue is that Michigan has to even do this kind of stuff now. That, and the reasons why should be addressed. #1 on that list is cost.
August 14th, 2014 at 7:44 PM ^
At current PSD prices, you're probably better off just buying tickets off StubHub (or on the street) for the games you actually plan on attending. I had been a season ticket holder for the last decade and just gave them up because it makes no sense financially.
