Pioneer 21-7 Ricardo has had a couple of drops.

Had a couple drops but a couple nice catches too. Was open a few times more, running past defenders, but the ball didn't get to him.

i've seen ricardo play a couple times this year. Seems to make the big and clutch plays but has a lot of trouble with routine balls. Lets the ball get too close and it bounces off his pads. Use your hands son!

That should about do it. Good luck Pioneer and Ricardo, represent the SEC next round. Great job Mules making it to the playoffs for the first time since 1990. Oh well, we always have wrestling season.

=( sad to see the season end, but great job nonetheless.
anyone know why pioneer got the home field even though the overall records were the same but beford won the sec red and beat them earlier in the season? It just kind of bugged me why we didn't get the game at home?

It's all based on playoff point voodoo magic.
http://www.mhsaa.com/Sports/Football/PlayoffPointSummary.aspx
You get fewer points for beating schools in lower classes; Bedford (a class A school) played two class B schools, while Pioneer (class A) played only one. That came back to haunt Bedford.
The moral of the story: don't schedule smaller schools unless you have to. But that's easier said than done in the world of high school football scheduling.
All that said, I was a little mad when I saw Bedford had to play at Pioneer after beating them and winning the conference. It's sort of an anti-reward. Actually, I'm not a fan of having conference foes meet in the first round of the playoffs at all, but it usually ends up being a geographical necessity.

Sadly...its Rockford or Lowell this year...

Miller dropped a sure TD pass, but came back in the next series and caught a beautiful ball then ran maybe 15 yards to set them up on the Bedford 10 for their next score.

know AA pioneer is plays at canton next week. its going to be a tough game for pioneer. canton lost one game year (the JR's on canton have only lost one game in their HS careers), and canton runs a crazy offense.
