Browns OT Joe Thomas comparing QB Brian Hoyer to a guy named Brady

Actually I dont give a flying fuck who starts at QB as long as we win. I like Hoyer a lot and think that he does have a certain "Brady-esque" moxie to him absent all the super bowl rings, insanely hot wife, multi-million contract, multiple MVPs and whatnot. Can't help but wonder what last year would've been like if he hadnt gone down cause the team was really starting to click when he did.
That being said he's started exactly THREE GAMES in his entire NFL career. We won at Minnesota with him throwing three picks, at home against Cinci where he didnt look great at all but the defense bailed him out and against the Bills where he got hurt but we were losing when he went down. Hard to build a trophy for him in Canton with that resume. So wouldnt be shocked or bummed if Johnny Football is under center at some point this year.
I now know, however, that Voltron lives near Fairview Park.

I agree that OK does produce some very attractive women. Hoyer's wife is not quite Giselle hot albeit, just by absence of any Victoria's Secret fashion shows. Hoyer on the otherhand is also just not Brady, maybe if he wins one Super Bowl you could compare. It just doesn't seem like a fair assesment for someone who by your own admission has started 3 games.
I'm a Lions fan so I can appreciate your Browns fandom, but think Manziel will be the starter by mid-season.

I'm sure he took in a lot of things from Tom Brady, you'd have to be an idiot not to if you were drafted into the Patriots organization. Thomas didn't say they had equivalent abilities, he's basically just saying Hoyer has picked up good habits from Brady.
Like some, I sort of had this quizzical look when I saw the title of this thread, but that's sort of where Thomas is going with this if you read the full Plain Dealer article. Here's where I think he starts to flesh out his idea a bit, if you will:
"I think it's that attitude and that swagger that demands respect. And, he also goes and backs it up out on the field. He throws the ball to the right person. He's doing things and getting everybody on the same page. That's just as much the role of a quarterback as throwing touchdown passes."
If it were meant to be a straight comparison complete with in-game performance and stats, then...yeah...
IIRC, some of these same comments have been said about Brady Quinn.
Coincidentally, he also sucks.
I think Thomas was more leading on to his leadership attributes and how he is commanding the huddle. There is no way he is comparing the talent. Well he was an understudy for Tom Brady and learned how to carry himself and lead a team. I just want a quaterback that will help the Browns win, whoever that may be
The problem is that Thomas has never played with Brady as far as I know. How does Thomas know how Brady is in the huddle, or in the locker room, or in the classroom, and in the community?
The only time would have been at the Pro Bowl. But in reality it's Thomas trying to boost Hoyer to the media and the fans over the Manziel and trying to lower the pressure on Hoyer

According to the NFL rules they cant factor in the DWI when metting out punishment for the weed violation. Agreed the second hand smoke thing is funny but to me the fact that the NFL had two different readings from the same sample and the second one was UNDER the acceptable limit is the key.
BTW - can you image getting tested 70 times for drugs? That's better than once a week - unreal.
