Most want to pay players, isn't that a little like the NFL? College football is slipping fast and most are helping by supporting the players. They are 18 years old and have no idea why they voted for someone. Let's have them shape college football, because it needs help. ugh

So does that mean Miami of Ohio will be a night game or a weird 5:30 start? I'm not sure it will be dark enough in mid September around 7pm but I could be wrong.

This struck me as odd about the whole thing, although I don't object to the idea of postgame fireworks at all. According to a couple sites I checked, you're still talking about a sunset of around 7:50 PM for September 13th, so the only way it seems to work is if this is a 5:30 PM game or something along those lines. So far, the official start for this game has not yet been announced, I think.

Post-game band performance ends around 7:30.  Twenty minutes for fireworks set up.  Then you have your 7:50PM start time for fireworks.

I have seen fireworks at a Tiger game right at sunset and it was not as impressive as when it's about 30 minutes after sunset.  Maybe this will be a 4 or 4:30 start time.  They have started games on the road at that odd of a time.

If we're going to make Michigan football into an NFL game with worse athletes, at least sell beer and go all the way.

What time is the start time going to be? 530?

I don't mind it. It's the post-game version of a flyover. Most importantly, it has nothing to do with the game. Don't want to see it? You don't have to stay.

There is the University of Miami and Miami University. Why do so many people insist on saying "Miami (OH)" or "Miami of Ohio?"

No idea why you got so many downvotes.

But living here in Cincinnati and being surrounded by RedHawk alums ----- I can say they are all annoyed by the "Miami (OH)" moniker.  It's "Miami" or "Miami University."

As they all like to say, when their school was founded the region where Miami is now was still controlled by the Spanish.  So "the other Miami" should be the one with the 2 letter tag at the end!

Personally, I don't mind the fireworks. But I hope the Athletic Department isn't doing this because they are THAT desperate to get people in the seats, there was a time when as long as football was being played, people were going to show.

Isn't it the worst? Imagine if the athletic department did something like bungle a sexual assault investigation! These fireworks are such a disgrace! Thank god the rest of the program, from the conduct of the players to the sterling on field success of the past few seasons, is excellent!

At first, I thought this meant that Brandon was going up into the student section after the games to answer questions.

If fireworks make us mad, wait until the players strike when they disagree with their salaries.

There's at least thread one thread left on the board where you haven't made a stupid and completely irrelevant comment about player compensation. Better hurry up and get over there before it's too late for you to make an ass of yourself in front of everybody reading it.

I have a feeling if DB decided to donate millions to the athletic department like Ross did, people on here would still find a way to crap on him for it.
