Speculative: Which Beilein recruit will win the first NBA ring?
Title says it all: wild guess, who will get their first ring. These are the contenders:
1) Manny Harris (out of league)
2) Darius Morris (San Antonio summer league team)
3) Trey Burke (Utah)
4) Tim Hardaway Jr (New York)
5) Nik Stauskus (Sacramento)
6) Mitch Mcgary (OKC)
7) Glenn Robinson III (Minnesota)
8) Jordan Morgan (Minnesota)
9) Caris Lavert (Michigan)
10) Zak Irvin (Michigan)
11) Derick Walton Jr (Michigan)
First, its nice that the programhas so many guys in the League or at least on the skirts.
Second, I am going to pick Zak Irvin, winning with the Cavs. They have Miami's top 10 protected pick next year, and I believe they will be looking for a guy who can stretch the defence. If Miami doesnt fall off the map (they might) and Cleveland gets their pick, I think Zak would be the perfect fit for them.
The next choice is obviously Mitch, followed by Darius, but he needs to make San Antonio's team first.
I think Durant is going to get one here soon and Mitch may well contribute along the way.

Irving? I believe he is already on the Cavs.
Why on earth would Cleveland pick Irvin when they just took Wiggins?
Don't know about the team as a whole, but THJ had a great opening game in the Summer League yesterday, top scorer (25 pts) for the Knicklets, half-time interview choice, as well as photo of choice for their website report.
Several highhlight plays including one showing great mentoring chemistry with their draft pick, Cleanthony Early. [The photo got a little squished here. THJ actually looks like he's put on some good weight.]
Love would be a fantastic addtional piece (takes the paint dirty work away from an older lebron, wants to win, great player) and I'd go all in for him if I were the cavs, but I have a feeling they'll screw that up.

even if they don't trade wiggins for love, you know they'll be looking for shooting. i think Irvin will be considered the best shooter in next year's draft, so he could be a natural fit.
i guess i just really like the idea of a michigan guy get drafted on a big profile team. its fun to follow michigan guys along into their professional careers, but when THJ dueled manny harris on the lakers last year in a skunk game wasn't as fun as seeing them in the finals would be.
McGary has the best chance of anyone right now
Yeah, when I saw the list that the OP provided, I thought of the most recent future odds at VegasInsider.com and the Thunder are at #2 with 6/1 projected odds to win the 2015 NBA Finals, first place now belonging to Cleveland at 4/1 given the events of the last 24 hours there. For reference, the Kings are projected at 300/1, as are the Jazz, and the Knicks sit at 50/1 in their estimate.

Maybe THJ next with the Knicks, just because they've got Phil Jackson running the show, but I don't know.
As others have said, it is OKC. They would probably already have a title had they not traded Harden.
Have you watched Harden play defence? Or more to the point not play any defence at all. Yeah he would have done really well against the Spurs this year.

Everyone knows Harden can't play D. That task falls to Ibaka and their rotation players (and soon, McGary).
Harden provided a 2ndary scoring option and was always good for scoring punch off the bench. OKC had a nice little setup going where they only needed 2 of their 3 primary scorers (Durant, Westbrook, Harden) to be hot on any given night to win most of their games.
During the playoffs this year, OKC had no answer for the defensive prowess of Kawhi Leonard. Having Harden on the floor would have been an enormous help.
Trading him to Houston was a massive screwup.
He has a tendency to disappear come playoff time which is exactly why OKC got rid of him.

Haha it's a leap! But you can't see Glenn Robinson III being a throw-in in a potential Kevin Love for Andrew Wiggins deal? That trade will probably have like 7 pieces (players or picks), and a second round salary with first round potential might be interesting for the Cavs. The TWolves roster at 2/3 might get crowded if they end up with LaVine, Shabazz, Wiggins, and whoever else.
I do agree though. The only correct answer here is Mitch McGary, because he's the only guy currently playing for a contender.

The safest bet is Mitch.
D-Mo isn't going to make the Spurs, otherwise he'd be the best bet. IIRC, the Spurs have already got like 14 guys with guaranteed contracts for next year.
Utah, Sactown, and Minnesota are lightyears away from title contention.
The Knicks need to wait until Amare and Andrea's contracts come off the books in 2015 before they can build anything of significance.

Would have to go with team that has the best chance now and adding Mitch, should he continue to improve from what we saw in the regular season 2012-2013, then the incarnate of Bill Walton in the tournament, their chances can only improve. However, as one poster pointed out, with the number of trades that take place and the number of player involved in these, there is really no telling where one will end up accidentally, possibly claiming a ring due to such a trade.
