I still refuse to click on the link though.

I don't expect anyone to click on the link but if I didn't post the link, people would gripe about not posting the source. Damn, Catch-22 Mgoblog etiquette!

Here's the Detroit News Link: http://www.detnews.com/article/20091027/SPORTS0201/910270439/1361/Corne…

Cant be good... In reference to the source or the context... Please, No Michigan DB hating God, NO!!!!!
October 27th, 2009 at 6:23 PM ^
dumb ass!!! the kid is going school for free and gets to play football and he blows it....
October 27th, 2009 at 6:25 PM ^
Damn it. Missing class and workouts is an idiotic thing to do. What was he thinking?
October 27th, 2009 at 6:26 PM ^
He wasn't.
October 27th, 2009 at 6:27 PM ^
He probably already had made his decision so why go to class and workouts

(actually I'm not sure if this works 100% in terms of stiffing the Freep from pageview $$)
October 27th, 2009 at 6:56 PM ^
edit the new link into yours if you can....
October 27th, 2009 at 6:59 PM ^
Most ad services just count the number of times that their ad shows up on a page and the number of times the ad is clicked on. So, fear not little MGo...uh...Goer, your conscience should be clear!
October 27th, 2009 at 7:38 PM ^
Forget about whether or not to click on a Fr--p link based on their ads and revenue. It's about trust. Why on earth would you trust that garbage site to inform you about anything?
October 27th, 2009 at 8:42 PM ^
Because a lot of posters here live in the Detroit area, and the Free Press is the biggest and best resource for local non-sports news. It's a bit moronic to demand people give up quality local news because the sports department shat the bed.
October 27th, 2009 at 6:28 PM ^
The guy seems to have gotten plenty of chances but insisted on continuing to act like a knucklehead. It sounds like his high school coach was among the many folks trying to steer him in the right direction but for whatever reason nobody could get through to him. A real shame to see a kid blow such a wonderful opportunity.
October 27th, 2009 at 6:30 PM ^
I just refreshed that article 15 times to make up for you fuckheads who think you're actually fighting the power, then feel the need to remind us with a dozen posts in every thread that vaguely mentioned the Free Press. Cue negging.
October 27th, 2009 at 6:32 PM ^
Now that wasn't very nice.
October 27th, 2009 at 6:34 PM ^
Nicely done sir!
October 27th, 2009 at 6:43 PM ^
are GAY
October 27th, 2009 at 6:45 PM ^
you sir,
are a BIGOT
October 27th, 2009 at 7:21 PM ^
There are at least 3 ND boards that have linked to the same article, betting they might get a few more hits.
October 27th, 2009 at 7:38 PM ^
I remember when TKoB set the record for most negged post with I think a -97 on 1 post post Iowa game. I'm surprised this hasn't gotten to that point, yet I'm sure it will.
October 27th, 2009 at 6:34 PM ^
this would be a bad loss at a position of need
October 27th, 2009 at 6:39 PM ^
from Wilcher, so I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's true. Could this be a Carson Butler kicked off the team type of thing where he's allowed back on 6 months? I don't know, but for now I tend to think Wilcher is telling the truth.
And Wilcher certainly wasn't coming to his defense at all, which is also interesting.
October 27th, 2009 at 6:45 PM ^
there goes our Cass Tech pipeline. [/sarcasm]
October 27th, 2009 at 6:35 PM ^
I wonder if they had any thing to do with it.
October 27th, 2009 at 6:46 PM ^
...doesn't work on the interwebs.
its a bummer that Cissoko didn't go as we hoped.
October 27th, 2009 at 6:36 PM ^
It's a shame that a kid would squander an opportunity like this.
It's also a shame that the kid came in so highly touted and had underperformed so greatly.
Perhaps this could mean his performance would have been better had his heart been in it. At the end of the day perhaps it is better for the team to rid itself of players whose hearts are not fully in it.
But still a shame.
October 27th, 2009 at 6:41 PM ^
I hope he doesn't pull a ,Boren or O'neil like move, (I know the situations are different) and go away and instantly start bashing the program. I don't think we could afford anymore of that.
October 27th, 2009 at 6:47 PM ^
Wasn't is Wermers who bashed the program, not O'Neil. IIRC, O'neil handled his departure with class.
October 27th, 2009 at 6:59 PM ^
My bad...For some reason I was thinking that I remembered something about O'Neil saying something but yes it was for sure Wermers and Bored
October 27th, 2009 at 6:39 PM ^
Word of advice to people who care about their points; don't call people "fuckheads".
Gee, and I thought I was being nice.
October 27th, 2009 at 6:50 PM ^
We could care less about the fuckhead. The negbang comes from clicking the refresh button. Fuckhead. [positive points for proof].
October 27th, 2009 at 6:52 PM ^
Oh, sorry that I don't pretend to stage another lunch counter sit in on the Free Press
October 27th, 2009 at 7:58 PM ^
and getting negged is appropriate if you are deliberately trying to provoke IMO.
HOWEVA, I have to say IMHO the Freep boycott is overblown. To each his own, and if you don't want to read them that is understandable and cool with me, but to me they are like any source--you read them and understand the perspective, and if you still find value then good for you. I have never stopped going to them as one source for M articles, and it will take more than an idiot reporter to change that--for me anyway.
And one more controversial statement: the fact that the NCAA has moved to the next phase, far from being "nothing," is in fact a sign that they believe there is enough evidence from the investigation so far to continue the process. That means there is something to the allegations--it DOES NOT MEAN we have committed major violations. But it does mean that the lead NCAA investigator believes it is worth continuing, after interviewing people for more than a month.
October 27th, 2009 at 6:41 PM ^
We have a recent rash of posters trying to make themselves the center of attention on threads.
October 27th, 2009 at 6:43 PM ^
"Rash" is a good word for it.
October 27th, 2009 at 6:42 PM ^
I would wish the guy luck, but I don't like him.
October 27th, 2009 at 6:44 PM ^
As a player or a human? Or both?
October 27th, 2009 at 6:48 PM ^
Do you know him personally?
October 27th, 2009 at 6:49 PM ^
Nope. I didn't like him as a player (except as a kick returner), and I haven't heard anything good about him personally.
October 27th, 2009 at 6:53 PM ^
This probably is not the time to be stating your dislike of a 20 year old kid who you have never met. This issue goes well beyond football. Missing class, workouts, and whatever isnt the problem. The problem is what caused him to do so in the first place. He could be a really troubled kid right now. And thats just what he is a KID.
October 27th, 2009 at 6:55 PM ^
He is just a kid.
I didn't realize I was required to like every 20-year-old just because he/she is young.
October 27th, 2009 at 7:01 PM ^
I saw enough in 38 secs to draw my own conclusion
October 27th, 2009 at 7:05 PM ^
He's just a kid. You're not allowed to dislike him, even if he acted in an unsportsmanlike manner, acted cocky when he didn't do much, got in trouble with the police, got suspended from the team, and then got kicked off the team. You know, because likable, good kids get kicked off major college football teams all the time...
October 27th, 2009 at 7:10 PM ^
I never said you cant dislike him. What I am saying is that voicing that sentiment publicly after he was dismissed for the team is probably not the best idea and shows more of your character than his.
He is 20 years old and is clearly not making good decisions right now. However, that does not mean that he is a bad person or anything. He is young and we have no idea whats going on in his life right now.
October 27th, 2009 at 7:16 PM ^
Hmmmmm...
One person gets kicked off a football team...
...another person says he didn't like the aforementioned person...
...and my character is more in question than his?
I won't apologize for not liking a Michigan player. I know my opinion isn't popular, but I'm not a follower. I voice my opinion and you can do what you want with it. But the kid got kicked off the team. It's not a stretch to say that he might have character issues.
October 27th, 2009 at 7:21 PM ^
Hes also still a kid trying to figure out life and still in the developing stages.
You are more than likely older than say 25 or 30 and therefore you publicly saying you dont like a kid who made a bad choice is more an indication of your character to me. Cissoko still has room to grow and mature.
October 27th, 2009 at 7:26 PM ^
Are you serious? Every 20-year-old has the chance to grow and mature. Does that mean nobody can dislike a 20-year-old?
If I said I disliked LeGarrett Blount, who punched a Boise State player and then went after some fans, would you (the general "you", not the individual "you") be so offended? I mean, he's just a 22-year-old kid. What about the douchebag housemate I had in college? He was only 21. Can I not dislike him?
October 27th, 2009 at 7:39 PM ^
Yes, speak truth to power. Nobody else has the courage to talk bad about an expelled college student. You brave, brave man.
