Cullen Christian Confused After WVU Visit?

Submitted by Welllughhh on
I've searched the site for this topic and nothing came up so I thought I would make a post regarding Cullen Christians recent visit to WVU. It says on the front page of Scout that after visiting WVU Cullen is confused about something. I'm wondering if someone can shed a little light on this subject. What exactly is he confused about? His leader? WVU's recruiting tactics?

He was probably confused about why coaches were being burned after a win against UConn. Or why he ever thought it would be a good idea to go there.

The comparable Rivals article said that it wasn't a great trip for him. The WV position coach didn't have much time to talk to him and that he was sort of turned off by the visit or something like that. It also had a bunch of other stuff I didn't read very closely. I'm sure someone who actually read the article instead of skimming it has more info should they choose to post it.

I talked to him a little bit yesterday, and we're supposed to talk today. My computer broke, again, and is being fixed, so you'll have to bare with me. He's now saying that he doesn't have a favorite. I'm not sure why, or what has changed that. From the sounds of it, the UCLA visit wasn't anything special. I'll try to figure out what's happened, or what has changed his mind (if it really has). My initial reaction is that he's saying that because he wants to get the most out of all his visits, but he's usually pretty honest and open with me about Michigan leading, so it's a little weird. No reason to freak out.

Working in IT (specifically in a user support role) has given me some great insight into how computers become "broken." (just giving you a hard time)

Is Rich really as bad as the WV coaches make him out to be? What position does WVU really want me to play? Why are there so many folks without teeth here? Are they serious that I can get a summer job at the Governor's house if I commit? Why does GERG have cornerbacks play 10 yards off the receiver?

If we had, you know, safeties, the last question would be more of a worry. The coaches just need to let him know that we have a more aggressive scheme in mind, but the personnel is lacking right now. He would probably be an instant starter and could help put us in a position to run the type of defense that we want.

"I'm really confused now," Christian said. "I honestly don't know what I am going to do. I thought I had it all figured out, but I'm not so sure now." "I'm going to Pitt on Nov. 7 for the Syracuse game," Christian said. "I'm going to Ohio State Nov. 14 and Michigan on Nov. 21. I figure if I have five visits I may as well use all of them. I think you get a lot better feel for the schools when you stay there and you hang out with the players. You get a feel for how it really is at each school." Article left me concerned since we have been the frontrunner all along. I dont know whats changed but the decision date is still the same so that should bode well for us.

Perhaps Pitt at 7-1 and being a bit of a surprise team this year is becoming more attractive to him. Michigan just needs to show Cullen who they are and what they have to offer. Everything else will fall into place.

While I don't like to hear he doesn't know what he's going to do, I think the fact that he still has his official to M (the last one, no less) will help sway him back. Hopefully what he learns about the feel of things from the official trumps what he's seen so far.

the players and staff (that remained) trash talked RR and said stuff like he's a great recruiter but once you are on the team ___ (fill in BS complaint). They are probably talking about how great Coach Stew is... Hopefully, he sees that the WVU side is obviously biased and only cares about RR not getting good players, because they want to stick it to him.

I'll be more surprised if he commits to us than if he goes elsewhere. I'm sure he got an earful of RR-hate from the WVU people.

I have wondered all along why, if he was so set about Michigan, is he waiting to pick. I know that he wants to take his visits and what not but it just seems like if he is so sure that he would want to get it out of the way and over with to focus on his senior year. He would be a great signature to get in ink but I have just been on the fence the whole time. Seems as though ever since he got his last offer from tosu that he has been awfully confused. I would love for him to join the Wolverines but at this point it seems as if anything is possible for him.

Think about Will Campbell and maybe you'll know why Cullen Christian hasn't committed yet. If you commit to Michigan, Rich Rod will not let you take officials to other schools or he doesn't consider you committed. Rich Rod wants this kid. He's probably told him, take the visits you want, let us make our pitch to you, then make up your mind. But don't commit before you're ready. Be honest - if you were in the middle of taking 5 visits to schools and were learning about these places that were treating you like royalty, and then guys from recruiting services and teams' recruiting websites were stalking you asking you 30 questions about what you liked, who you're committing to, and how your favorites rank, wouldn't that put a little confusion in your head too? Relax.
