Completely ignored so far in this thread was that he said on Twitter it was a Fathers Day gift commiting today. So... guessing there were other influences in this decision? He'll never play vs the Maize & Blue, which is... weird! Thanks ND, and go to Hell! To the rest of you, Happy Dad's Day!

When they offered, he had to reconsider. When Garrett verbaled, he really reconsidered. Wonder if Kelly had to pinky swear that he wouldn't recruit any more DBs? Meh, best of luck to him.

Free choice to look and go wherever he wants. That's what the recruiting process entails. Hope he has a productive and injury free career. We won't ever play against him so happy trails.

Crawford did talk to the Plain Dealer about his commitment to Notre Dame - the short writeup is HERE. A portion of the quote:

"I feel Notre Dame will make me the best person and player possible. Notre Dame is a prestigious university that my athleticism has gotten me in to. However, I will rely on my intelligence and hard work in the class room to succeed at Notre Dame."

To be fair, of course, a lot of kids have chosen Michigan through the years for reasons which could be worded similarly, so we shouldn't fault Crawford for his decision really. Best of luck to him.

Meh, it was obvious he wasn't going to be a Wolverine for a long time, and I've come to terms with it. It's like when the sleazy girl who's dating your friend finally leaves him for another dude. You're a little sad but you all saw it coming anyways.

Afraid of the depth chart and in coming recruits. Kind of sad when a player devotes himself to Michigan then just leaves and drops is like that. Kinda pisses me off! As Crawford may listen to others a bit to much

but while I think it's a huge loss player wise, I decided to stop openly caring our searching for recruiting news. Stars do not equal winning as much as coaching in CFB but we pretend it does for drama & gloating sake. A loss of a great prospect but could truly care less anymore. I had to change when I watched Hand choose Bama on TV and was genuinely nervous before he picked & bothered that a simulator caused it lol. Pathetic so I only see news here and refuse to read recruiting gossip posts, etc.

Hoke has shown us that he is great at pulling in excellent recruiting classes.  Losing one recruit out of an average of 20 or so a year isn't going to really hurt anything.  It isn't always true in basketball, but in football, one recruit isn't bigger than the rest of the class.  

This class will be just fine without Shaun Crawford.  As a human being, I wish Crawford luck.  As a football fan, I don't really care what he does, as long as he never, ever helps ND beat Michigan or affects Michigan's chances for a playoff berth in any way.
