Friday Night Terrible Game Thread

In tonight's battle of who cares, we have Army v. Rutgers. I'm too lazy to look up the spread, but I have to imagine it's at least a touchdown in favor of Rutgers. Score with a minute to go in the first half: Rutgers 17 Army 3

Let's hope that's not the kiss of death. Dr. Lou who do you pick between New England Patroits against Notre Dame? Dr Lou: Notre Dame wins easy, Charlie used to coach there and knows all the plays. The QB at ND is really good and should win the Heisman this year.

I was just watching the BTN and for like 10 good minutes they just slammed Michigan in every was possible. Saying we will not ever get any good receivers because they spend all their time blocking, we wont ever get good quarterbacks that can throw because the qb's spend most of the time running, and that Michigan will never go to a rose bowl under RR because the system is too "small" for the Big Ten. GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK

Usually I don't watch any BTN but since they were talking about the Wolverines I thought I'd give it a listen. I love that they don't know anything about Michigan football that's why I got so heated. I hate when people talk about something they know nothing about...

In regards to the saliva bath Mike Savage is getting: Saying that Savage won the job as a freshman without enrolling early might not be saying something about Savage. It may be saying something about Rutgers and their QBs.

Touchdown Army. Wooo. I normally root for Navy in the rivalry game between these two teams, but I'll take a service academy over Jersey trash any day.

I think some of those Tuesday nite Sun Belt games were seeping into my brain when I was trying to think of past Friday nite matchups. Also that Thursday nite Missouri/Nebraska game that was a snoooooooozefest until the 4th quarter (at which point I had long given up). I guess I should have said "Some of these.." Edit: I will agree with you on CU/Toledo. That was just downright comical.

I love watching the military academies play, but Friday night lights should be saved for the high school kids. What really sticks out to me is how disciplined these teams are, and I think it is a good lesson for BCS teams to watch how hard these academies play throughout the contest, regardless of the score. The other thing that really sticks out to me is how football really is a release for these young men, since life at the academy is so arduous. I remember talking to an old high school teammate, who a pretty fair OL at my high school in mid-Michigan. After attending his Beast summer camp prior to the beginning of fall classes, he lost so much weight that he had to play LB/FB. On second thought, I wish that we could have had Army or Navy come in for the opener in 2010, because it would have been a wonderful site to see either the Long Grey Line or the Midshipmen file into the Big House. It certainly would have been more interesting and important for me to see that kind of scene that UConn taking the field.
