Jeremy Gallon - Draft Day
Here's a nice article on MLive about Jeremy Gallon and what his plans are for draft day.
Nothing too exciting but it's Jeremy Gallon and he deserves a NFL draft thread.
He's someone I will follow wherever he goes. I think he's going to make a good pro because he's never going to stop working to improve.
Every time I listen to this song re-realize is insanely creepy it is. It's a good song, but so damn creepy.
The original working title was "Ode to a Stalker".
In some interview I read years ago, Sting said that he's baffled when he hears that someone used EBYT as a wedding song. "Really? Have you read the lyrics?"
He's someone I will follow wherever he goes.
Then it's a good thing you didn't play cornerback at Notre Dame
. . . "Wide open's Gallon! They left him ALOOONE!!"
I think he gets drafted, but someone could reach for him in round 4, or he could fall out fo the draft completely (which isn't all that bad, really). I feel like if I was in that position I would try to keep things as normal and chill as possible. Just try to do things to keep my mind off of it and relax with friends and family doing something completely different.
Sitting around, waiting, worrying about when you'll be taken would be heart wrenching. I suggest trying to avoid doing that as it won't change anything other than be a lot of stress.
...but I don't think 4th round is "reaching" for Gallon. He's a 4-5 rounder to me.
I think 2nd round would be a reach.
Personally, I think he's 3-6, which is still a very wide range.
I wish the draft went back to being a week before the Kentucky Derby and Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
It was just so much better for fans to be able to get done with work on Friday and check out the first round of the draft. Then have Saturday to recap and do rounds 2-3. And the Sunday, NFL Day, leave the last 4 rounds to the die hards.
I used to love relaxing and watching the late rounds on Sunday and waiting for a lot of the guys that I knew and watched at Michigan or play Michigan, but weren't national names...watching those guys get drafted.
This is just draft overload and I hate it. It makes me not want to watch any...but I probably will.
I love Gallon and I think he is gonna surprise people in the NFL, but he wont go in the 2nd. The earliest he will be picked is in the 5th. Maybe the 4th. Nothing wrong with that though. He is short and slow, so people are gonna underestimate him. It wil only make him work that much harder
He's also not as slow as you think. He's run solid 40s all combine process. Sure we saw him get walked down a couple times, but he's been running in the high 4.4's/low 4.5's.
But a reach would be the 2nd round...or even early 3rd.
He may be a combine 4.4/4.5 guy but in pads he's a 4.7 guy.
Ok, he's slower in pads than he was at the combine. So is everyone else. So he's still not as slow as some of us thought.
They had to move the draft this year because of an Easter event at RCMH
no doubt agree. teams no longer guaranteed to keep you just bc they spent 4th rd pick. its not all bad if he has the chance to pick his spot as undrafted FA. the dudes gonna stick around for several contracts and easily earn his pension. hes just too tirleless of a worker and too smart to not impress in camp, plus hes excellent blocker for his size, hes more advanced in route tree execution than many college wrs, and the 40" vert never hurts . question is can he really find the right team, even after a year or two, that allows him to put those mitts to use in the slot often enough? loved watching this dude and really respect his game. hopefully he ends up getting a legit shot at longevity
Cue the ubiquitous, “I think he’d be a good fit in the New England offense” statement.
Actually, he would be.
Ditto for Denver.
14 posts in and No Wes Welker or Patriots talk yet. Nice!
Look right above you....
EDIT: @willywill9
It is nice to see Gallon's work ethic carry over into his approach to getting onto an NFL roster, which I believe he will do because it just seems like there is that much potential and many teams could use someone like him. As he says at the end, "Keep working. Keep pushing for greatness" - he did that here at Michigan and became an excellent player, and it is an attitude that will definitely help him shine at the next level.
I see Gallon as a 4-5 rounder and I hope he goes to a team that has a legit outside threat. I know my beloved Lions have been a clusterfuck but I would love to see him here.
So... you want a UM player to go to a team you openly admit is a clusterfuck?
I'm hoping the right coaching change, and productive drafts, can get us to respectability. Like Sean Payton and the Saints.
3 picks in the fourth round. would love to see them use one on gallon. i think him in the slot with calvin and tate would be a great spot for him to use his abilities
Any Gallon post gets a upvote from me.
This is worth at least a third round pick
