Shane Morris self-pass

Submitted by Tate on

Recently on Vine there was an impressive post of someone throwing a pass to themselves.

Shane Morris gave us his own version, "the real version".

I got a kick out of it.

You would have to wonder how this might look in a scoring summary on Sunday morning. As an example:

"S. Morris 26-yard completion to S. Morris"

"D. Green rush for 7 yards."

"S. Morris 13-yard completion to S. Morris for TD"

Actually, between a switch to inside zone and everything else, allowing the QB to also be in the WR alignment simultaneously might allow for an extra blocker in certain sets. It's not a bad thought.

I always wanted RR or Hoke to run a play where Denard passed to someone and then it was lateralled back to him so he could get the stat for both the passing TD and the receiving TD (since it's Denard I'm assuming the trickery would open a lane for him through which he could jet for a long touchdown.)

For some reason, my older brother felt it justified to give up the PI rather than a potential catch. I guess the lure of his little brother looking up obliviously as he stalked like a lion after a wounded and slow gazelle was too much.

Good thing I had on Phil Simms Giant's Halloween helmet that said explicitly on the inside "Not for contact use" and something about it potentially causing more danger or something I dunno I don't really remember that might explain a lot...

Years ago I had Mark Brunell on my fantasy team.  He caught a similar batted pass but then proceeded to run it in for a touchdown.  So Brunell got credit for the touch down pass and touchdown reception.  That was a good day.
