'Bama offers Tyree Kinnel

Submitted by Blue Carcajou on

Apparently Alabama offered our 2015 safety, in which he replied:

"Alabama is a big offer, but I'm 100% to Michigan"

One could say it validates his commitment to the good guys, soooo... 2014? Good news?

An Alabama offer to one of your commits/targets is always good news and bad news. Hopefully he stays true to his word, but I couldn't imagine he doesn't at least ponder his options (and wouldn't blame him). Not saying decommit, but just think about it privately.

if you really would "rather have commits who arents good enough for bama than have a commit leave us for bama" then youre setting the bar pretty low and writing off tons of great athletes.  i understand many fans want to win football games at um with roster consisting of natl merit scholars etc but just not possible.  bama has owned the past 10 years and their #1 recruiting classes each yr form basis...they go after the most talented players, period.  if um wants to compete on national level and stop preaching history then they need to recruit accordingly like bama or fsu or osu, etc.  anything else is unacceptable.  if you really dont want um competing with bama for prospects then you should prob accept losing records of 5-8 or so now or just stop following....if um does not attempt to compete for those top players every cyle they have no chance ever getting to playoff

1) I wouldn't trade our DBs for Alabama's DBs

2) We have one of the best coaching staffs in the country

3) There are a lot of really good reasons to choose Michigan over Alabama

4) we are out recruiting Ohio and MSU right now, our class is really good at this nascent stage of the game

Everything seems to be going super from my perspective.  Well, everything except for our all-19 year old o-line.  But that will work itself out over the next few years.

P.S. stop freaking out, it's embarassing

I'll go with ever. Urban is too good of a recruiter and willing to use any and all tactics necessary. Brady relies on the "family atmosphere" which is a good thing and had a chance to bring in success with a non-awful offense, but is not going to lead to a head to head over Urban. We'll see what works out better in the long run.
