Not Carr
Lloyd Carr has no interest in the athletic director job:
Former Michigan football coach Lloyd Carr said Wednesday he is not interested in replacing Bill Martin as athletic director.
"I am not a candidate," Carr said.
As per usual, he had no other comment except the boilerplate bits you can find in the diaries.

....Can I apply? I have experience in running hotels and casinos, and I know that I have to kick asses sometimes to make them run right. Especially Fredo's....

You made your bones when I was going out with cheerleaders.
(Oh, and you've done a great job with the "Sport Shop" too.)

There is an almost unlimited supply. Love the line "he was banging cocktail waitresses two at a time!"

Yeah, but then you'd probably get message-jobbed through the eye. The University doesn't like violence. Blood is a big expense.

Is my credit good enough to buy you out?

Carr's just pullin' a Favre. He'll be back.

Somebody station Rachel Nichols at the Carr estate.

Brandon was making a lot of phone calls to donors and Regents in late 2007 and U-M's behind the scenes interest in Les Miles seemed to go downhill at about the same time. That's the sort of manipulator with a hidden agenda we don't need.

Lloyd represented the University well enough as a coach, but honestly, wasn't the football program running on fumes the last couple of years of the Carr regime? How would he have the energy to be an AD?

Carr actually talked to the press?! =O

It's gonna be Gary Moeller. Just you wait.
Sitting there, idly, waiting for a chance to get back into the Michigan family, punching people all along the way. Hooray!

I wouldn't have a problem with David Brandon as A.D. - he's a former Bo player, he's a former member of the board of regents, and he's the president of a national pizza chain. In other words - he's got strong UM loyalties and connections, he understands "Michigan," he's got university administrative knowledge, and he knows how to run a business. Isn't this basically the guy you want, hands down?

I am glad that LC put to rest his interest in the AD position, but it would have been fun to watch the meltdown of the LC haters if LC had said "Hmm, the AD job is available, huh!"

What? The pro-shop guy at Barton Hills was wrong?

"How many times can I say it, I'm not gonna be the Alabama coach."
-Alabama coach Nick Saban a week before he became the Alabama coach.
