more than a bit nervous, and why shouldn't he be.  He's giving an interview that will be seen nationally.  I could be wrong but that's probably the first time he's done so.  He wants to come across as smart and knowledgable while staying within the script he's been given to follow.  Standing up with lights and cameras in his eyes probably adds to the anxiety.  Had they been sitting down on a couple of bar stools he might have felt more comfortable.

It seems to me that the o-line will play more as a unit this year since they are all similar age and came in together,  playing next to their brothers instead of trying to impress/feel pressured to impress older brothers. As good as Lewan and Schoefield were, i bet we are much better this year due to the anticipated cohesiveness of this unit. Heres to 2014!

But seriously, O-line has a lot to do with chemistry (as we all know), I just think they will play with better chemistry due to the fact that they are the same age, been around eachother a lot, and are firends. Wishful thinking, I know, lets wait and see...

Chemistry and sticking to a strategy are huge for an offensive line. I've seen this first hand being a Cowboy fan(I know Romo sucks, overrated and Jerry Jones is crazy). The 12-13 season they had multiple injuries and constant shuffling along the line. Romo ran for his life and his back problems started that year.

Last year the line was healthy and they drafted Wisconsin center Travis Frederick who stabilized the middle of the line where most of the problems originated. They had the same group most of the season. They weren't great but they were serviceable. Which after a terrible year that's good progress. That is what I hope happens for the Michigan offensive line.

You can poke holes in anybody's game. But at the end of the day I think its strange that you'd take Tony Romo over Ben Roethlisberger (assuming we are talking strictly on the field stuff) who has won two super bowls and lost another and has a great playoff record (when they get there).

I end up watching a lot of Cowboys games over the years because I dated a girl from Dallas in college and so I still like to watch them when I can.  He's had some epic wtf moments for sure but even Peyton has had a 4-5 INT game.  I think his mistakes get overblown in the media because of the attention the Cowboys get as an organization.  I think a lot of times he's asked to do so much because their defense sucks and their offensive playcalling leaves some to be desired so it gets put on Romo to make up for it.

When he's bad, he's really bad.  But when he's good he's really good.

Romo has 19 game-winning drives in the fourth quarter or overtime, tied for fifth-most since he took over the starting job in 2006. He has a career 68.7 QBR in the 4th quarter – only Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers are better since 2006.

Again, I'm basing my opinion mostly on how I watch him peform and his surroundings.  I think based on what I watch and not necessairly game results, playoffs, etc. he's a damn fine QB (plus a I rode a combo of Romo + Bryant to fantasy victory).

Just my .02 cents.  Maybe top 5 is pushing it but I think he's a better QB than he gets credit for.

both of you.  As Jimmy has said himself many times, he hasn't won any awards for music he's written and never expects to.  He doesn't profess to be an incredible musician, because he isn't.  But he is a VERY good story teller and his concerts are the epitome of Summer fun.  And his fans exist in a state of mind, not necessarily award-winning music seekers, but relaxing and hanging out at the beach, the bar or a boat.   Sounds to me like you all should at least give it a try...or maybe read one of his best selling books.

I worked concessions at a Jimmy Buffet concert in hs to raise money for our water polo trip.

As I walked through the parking lot there was a guy passing out Margaritas using a RC car. I know nothing about his music, but it looked like everyone outside was having lots of fun.

Preach it brother...preach and boat...most definitely boat.

I got XM radio in mine for the express purpose of listening to "Margariitaville Radio" which is not pure Buffett but is about 50% Jimmy and 50% Jimmy-like music.  There is almost nothing as relaxing and good-mood inducing as being on the water, with a cold beer on a hot day, listening to Jimmy.

Is summer here yet?  Jesus I'm tired of winter.

on a side note, do you listen to any of Peter Mayer or Mac MacAnally's stuff?  Mac won the CMA's Musician of the Year six times in a row, and Peter Mayer has a steady, growing and dedicated fanbase following him.  HE is indeed an excellent musician and songwriter.

If they play it on Jimmy's radio station I do.  If not then no.  I'm pretty much locked into his station, the 80's, Classic Rewind & Vinyl and some early to mid 90's club music and early stage alternative.

The only time I hear any music recorded recently is when I switch cars with my wife and listen to whatever she has on.

Summer and college football, but this is the first year in my memory that I am not really looking forward to football. Summer can't get here soon enough. College football will just feel like a wave of mediocrity washing over summer. I see another 7 win season.

I've read in a few places - Seth on this site I believe, and Zach over at maizenbrew - that Glasgow practicing at RT is a worry for Braden.  Why is that the case?

We don't have any tackles.  It looks like Cole and LTT will back up Magnuson at LT (and I really like LTT at LT down the road), but I don't see a lot of candidates besides Bars or Samuelson for back-up at RT.  Doesn't it make sense that we'd want a solid second teamer to step in there?  Makes total sense to me.  And Glasgow looked pretty good over there in the spring game.

To expand on my budding man-crush for LTT, I'm thinking Cole has the job there because Tulley-Tillman missed a lot of spring due to the hand injury.  Something in the back of my mind is also telling me that maybe LTT doesn't show up for the "voluntary" work-outs as much as maybe Cole does.  And spring is when you can send a message.  But that is based on nothing but irresponsible speculation.  LTT needs to get stronger, but boy he's got quick feet, jumps out of his stance with a lot of energy, and I think he he does a decent job of blocking folks when he gets on them.  This is all based on watching the spring game. This post is too long and has little substance.

I agree that it is not necessarily a worry for Braden. I think the worry comes from the fact that Fox isn't mentioned anywhere in either tackle spot and Glasgow's move outside is pretty untraditional, that is, most interior guys stay there. Some have bounced out to play OT but not usually centers.

The possibility of Lindsay transferring opens this up a little bit if the coaches feel there is more talent at OG than OT, so having Glasgow compete at RT is good in the sense that it is the weakest OL position in terms of experience.

I'm OK with that reasoning, but the tenor I've heard is that it's some sort of drumbeat for Braden's play.  My greater worry is who's behind Braden?  No one, or at least no one ready at this point to step in.  Give Glasgow reps out there, it makes sense.

In the one-on-ones, double teams, etc, LTT has a lot quicker foot speed than the other OL guys.  Really noticeable.  The other guys strain and shuffle their feet trying to build momentum and fight thru, but LTT is taking faster steps.

I don't know how that little snippet parlays out to being a crushing/starting OL, but it was obvious to me, and I thought positive if harnessed properly.

Just an aside on the Lindsay thing, I bet he hears most of the same stuff from every team, we want you to join our team, start, etc.  And some schools he probably obviously would, like at Western Michigan.  But I wonder if the volume of visits he's taken, if the drone is starting to wear on him.  I would think he could probably trust his former OC a little more, than the standard sales pitch...

For as much as everyone complained about the spring game, there are valuable reps there if you're a football junkie.  He was overpowered on a bull rush, which is maybe not surprising at this point.  Otherwise he did show those quick feet we saw snippets of in the mgoblue videos (glad I wasn't the only one) and ability to know his assignment and lock on to defenders.  Jumps out of his stance.
