If the Lions draft a freaking receiver...
A lot of people on this board are Lions fans. The Lions are in need of a guy to compliment Calvin, especially since we no longer have Burleson. The Lions also have a history of using their high picks on receivers through the Matt Millen era, which produced the worst team in the history of football (Yeah, he picked Calvin, but that was no-brainer).
Bringing Avant back to the state of Michigan would have not only provided a strong locker room presence that is lacking in the organization, but also would alleviate our need for another receiver, allowing us to draft a different position of need. It would also give us a former Wolverine to root for on the team.
So, for me, this has to do with the Lions.
You mean besides Golden Tate?
Yez please*
Other than locker room precence?
With the Rookie Contract scale you can get the same WR, who is young and for half the price.
The Lions don't have a boat load of cap room, there is no point in getting another FA WR.
Sorry, but I would prefer a younger option who can actually make things happen. Avant was always strictly a possession guy. Now he is older.
I'll pass.
+1 to you for renaming that ugly piece of fabric.
I stand corrected. thanks.
First Wolverine Carolina Panther since Jim Harbaugh in 2001.
Craig Roh is on the practice squad if that counts.

I don't really care for the Bears, but they needed to fill a slot position between 2 studs on the outside (sound familiar, Lions fans?) and went with... Domenik Hixon, a poor man's Jason Avant.
I assume the Panthers are going to draft a WR after jettisoning their entire reciving corps but I still see Avant as a fulltime starter and he probably starts out as the #1 WR
Someone needs to dub "Panthers" over "Eagles" in the Jason Avant song. Keep that jam current.
that thinks this sucks because I hate Cam Newton and I would have rather Avant go almost anywhere else?
