Just wanted to pass along this factoid I noticed during my daily scan of the Wikipedia front page. They seem to feature articles relating to Michigan football an inordinate amount of the time, and today at the very end of "Did you know..."

... that the skills of Michigan Wolverines football punter Zoltan Mesko were discovered in seventh grade gym class when he knocked out a light during a kickball game?

If only I had taken 7th grade kickball more seriously...

Zoltan's leg is so strong that the "kickball" used for Zoltan's appearences at the plate was actually the former-planet Pluto.

The masses took Zoltan's gesture of kicking the Pluto into the sun as a message from the Space Emperor, that Pluto was unworthy, and the IAU immediately revoked Pluto's planet status.

Great! Now every kickball playing seventh grader will grow up thinking they too can rule the galaxy and bend time! Oh the heartbreak that will ensue from this article!

I did that same thing in gym class when I was in middle school. I punted a soccer ball and it hit a huge light in the rafters(one of those ones that takes like 20 minutes to turn on) and the entire light structure came crashing down onto the basketball floor. We had a substitute gym teacher that day and she sent me to the principal's office. If only the real teacher had been there, she may have realized my potential. Now I'm just a tubby office drone. What a waste.

Kicking a light off the ceiling is hardly sending the second sun out of our galaxy.....How dare you attempt to compare your insignificant accomplishment to that of the space emperors. You better watch your back or you will be the next on your way out of the galaxy via Zoltons foot my friend.

So, I go to Wikipedia to look up the Space Emperor and find this:

This article is about the Hungarian Nazi. For the American football player, see Zoltan Mesko (American football).

At a truly international university as the one in Ann Arbor, Zoltan's best shot at bagging a diverse selection of broads is definitely to be fluent in Romanian, Hungarian, German and being conversant in Spanish.

That or just having all those chicks watch him punt.
