OT: Heads up Comcast customers-HBO and Showtime On-Demand are free this week.

I thought the board might appreciate a heads up. I am gonna get into Ray Donovan and Game of Thrones this weekend. I have heard great things about both but am too cheap to fork over the money for movie channels. Enjoy, cheapo's!

If you're able to watch tv on your computer comfortably, google project free tv. That's where I watch all my shows the day after they air for free. Never had a problem with it. I have ad block for chrome so I'm not sure if there are ads or not, but if you don't have ad block and chrome you're living in the past. Just a friendly tip, and no I'm not associated in any way to that site or google. I'm just a poor college student.

I've never had a problem with it, and never had a malware scare for the 1+ year I've been using the site. I also use firstrow1.eu, and I feel that place is a higher risk. (I compare it to that because I know people on here have used it in the past.) I do use various chrome extensions, plus hotspot shield, Microsoft security essentials, and malware bytes. I feel protected, but I am also only slightly above average when it comes to computer knowledge. Figured I'd share a website that works for me, especially for all those poor college guys like myself. Proceed at your own risk, I suppose.

Besides Game of Thrones, I'm also looking forward to Silicon Valley, the new Mike Judge show. I'm a big fan of some of the names involved with that project.

True Detective was really good, and I can't wait to see Game of Thrones.  My favorite show right now is Hannibal.  I think it may be better in almost every way than True Detective, and its on NBC, go figure.  People need to be watching Hannibal!!!

If you haven't seen it already watch the episode from March 25 about the college degrees for the student athletes who cannot read and the other degrees athletic departments funnel football players towards. It's really quite sad to see this and learn how the NCAA disbanded the SAT/ACT requirements to be a student athlete and went to a graduation based system.

...that you might decide to get HBO (you can easily talk Comcast into adding it for $5/mo for a year) after you get into Game of Thrones. As stated, True Detective is also very good. Boardwalk Empire isn't bad..... although I gave it up after Season 2 since I have a hard enough time keeping up with my other favorite shows.

The success of the IBM computer led other companies to develop IBM Compatibles, which in turn led to branding like diskettes being advertised as IBM format. An IBM PC clone could be built with off-the-shelf parts, but the BIOS required some reverse-engineering.Companies like Compaq,Phoenix Software Associates,American Megatrends,Award, and others achieved fully functional versions of the BIOS,allowing companies like DELL,Gateway and HP to manufacture PCs that worked like IBM's product. The IBM PC became the industry standard.
