Dave Brandon To Announce Something "Historic" On Friday
Dave Brandon will announce a 'historic event' on Friday that will soon take place at Michigan Stadium

Most people on twitter are assuming this is some kind of soccer match. The tweet basically says it all, what "historic" event do you believe Brandon will announce?
While you think about this historic event, that you'll no doubt not want to miss, here is a video of the early enrollees for your viewing pleasure(found right below this post):
Maybe it's just me being hopeful, but dang it if D Green doesn't look awesome in all of these spring videos.
Your "analogy" was clear as day . . . only clearer.
For the first tiime in the history of him being AD he will announce that he will no longer try to be a behind the scenes puppet master. Who wants to watch some film now?
Basketball in the big house.
I really hope we attempt to break the world record for a basketball game some day. World record for American football, Ice Hockey, and Basketball? Hell yes.
We're going to lose the football one to Tennessee NASCAR Special Game
F Them. Then let's play Purdue at the Indianapolis Speedway.
If I were Stephen Ross I'd pounce on as many tickets as I could. Guinness doesn't care about ticket sales and won't certify the record if the butts aren't in the seats. It would take a few million to undercut the attendance enough but it's peanuts compared to some of the donations he's made.
Simply not possible based on weather for college basketball season (Nov-March).
It would have to be an exhibition game in the summer, which could not draw that type of crowd.
You don't need a dome if your yellow arch is large enough.
Maybe I've been spending too much time on the internet
Nothing new.
$12 GETS YOU THE WHOLE SEAT, BUT YOU'LL ONLY NEED THE EDGE!
That's the big news. The hold-up before the finalization of the game was due to the state legislature needing to approve the sale of liquor in the Big House but now that the measure has been passed, the game will happen for sure.
Absolutely impressive that Brandon has managed to bring two of the biggest teams in the world to the Big House. But, you know, screw him because of, like, money, or something.
^ This.
Thanks for the reply. My question is this, what do you think ticket prices will run? I'm a huge soccer fan, so I would love to see them play in the Big House.
Other stadiums hosting games for the International Champions Cup have tickets starting at around $40 for the highest seats and going up to around $130 for field level. Obviously it could be different here given the sheer size difference from the other stadiums, but that's probably a good comparison.
Thank you! I appreciate that information.
to answer that, although it looks like SCS100 already has. I think it'll be interesting to see what the ticket prices end up being because if ticket prices remain high and sell well, you'll almost certainly see more of these types of games in the states in the future.
I'd imagine that demand should be fairly high. The novelty aspect and the large fanbases of the two teams will play a large role and it'll be interesting to see how many people travel to the game. Chicago will obviously provide a good portion of the ticket sales, the proximity to Canada should see a good influx of Canadians to Ann Arbor and I'd think that people from both coasts would fly in for the game as well.
...none of the stadiums sold out. Sun Life was 7,000 people short and that was the closest anyone came. That being said, assuming United don't finish sixth in the EPL table and have to play in the Europa League, it is quite likely this thing packs in most if not all available spots.
Is that a joke? You know these types of teams play many summer crap-roster friendly games all over the country every year, right? Very few people are flying at all, let alone across the country, to see Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo play for 30 minutes at 70% effort.
I'm just a casual soccer fan and even I'm excited for this. I've just been waiting for tickets to go on sale. Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney playing for 30 minutes at 70% is still better than anything the US has to offer. They are two of the best futbol players in the world.
I am considering it, except for the fact that most of the internationals involved in the WC will probably be playing VERY sparing minutes.
I believe the reasons that some have been unhappy with some of the choices Brandon has made have been delineated in great detail--much more than "or something". But I suspect you've chosen not to listen.
The Daily's sources agree.

Or so I've read
Would Brandon announce that, though? He was pretty hands off with the Wings/Leafs stuff, making it clear that the NHL was merely renting the stadium and the university was not behind the production.
BTW, if it is Real/Man U, I will be there. Assuming they are all fit, Ronaldo, Rooney and Bale better all start this game. I know it's just a friendly in a World Cup summer, but you have to give the fans what they want in front of a crowd that size. 100,000 people to see a bunch of second-choice players would be an outrage.
It's preseason in a World Cup year. I wouldn't call it an outrage if Ronaldo and Rooney are out. Bale should be available because Wales isn't Cuppin'.
I loathe both of these clubs, so I have a completely different opinion of this than all of you.
It's preseason, but it's not a normal game. The whole point is to draw a record American crowd. Catering to the fans would be more important than usual and I'd hope everyone would be encouraged to make it a good show.
And both Portugal and England are in such difficult groups that there's a good chance the WC will only mean three games for Ronaldo and Rooney, with the most recent one 6-7 weeks ago.
Would we have to share revenue with the rest of the B1G?

This whole "OMG DAVE BRANDON IS DA WORST EVAR" schtick is getting so old on this blog.
"Schtick" implies the feeling is not sincere.
It might be sincere in some cases, however, this soccer game is a huge plus. Criticism of Dave Brandon obviously is warranted in some cases but uncalled for and annoying everytime the name is mentioned.
