At 6-4 minus McGary, we were in danger of missing the tournament. Based on expectations, this year was the f*cking bomb. This team was incredible and I'm mostly bummed that's the last time I may see some of these guys play for the maize and blue

Also sucks to lose to that skeeze Calipari but whatever. F*cking awesome year. Go blue

 I wouldn't count on it...

that said: Irvin looked good tonight, and Walton wouldn't surprise me if he made the year one  to year two Beilein jump to superioriiy... If levert stays he becomes stauskus/burke type player... the question is what we get out of Donnell and Doyle because, sadly, until we aren't replacing McGary with anyone on our roster and, honestly, neither of them is that level recruit.

All that said, the last five years of michigan basketball have been very satisfying...

Like football and charging down the lane to purposely make contact is not basketball...looking at you Kentucky. That said, we didn't deserve to win with the way we were beat up down low and on the boards.

It could have been worse, for example: hats off to UConn for playing through the "foul-a-minute defense" Izzo runs and beating MSU anyways.  I bet there are a lot of Virginia sads today; ten minutes of the MSU-Virginia game was all I could take and had to shut it off in disgust.  Once I saw MSU was going to be allowed to play football defense (strikingly similar to the way thier secondary actually DOES play football defense, which is supposed to be against the rules there, too), I decided it was an MSU win and couldn't take any more.

I thought our game was kinda poorly officiated, but it could have been much worse.  I felt like we mostly got out-hopped by a team full of 5-star talent, but hung in there with better coaching and headier players.

Margin of win: Goaltending and the "2". It doesn't really change much I feel, becuase the whole game would have been different, but that's really irksome.

This is one of the gutsiest team I have ever seen in my life. Scrappy as hell and played hard every time with quiet confidence. I could not be prouder how this team has represented my school. Go BLUE!!!!

Watching that shot go in realy, really sucked.  But, IMO, if you have to lose, losing on an unbelievable shot rather than a called foul, or mistake, or how UA went down last night is better.  Coach B got this team to the Elite 8 and won the B1G by three games. The program is still being built and it's best days are still ahead.  GO BLUE!

Great season; rough way to go out. UM almost stole the game -- imagine if Walton's three had been about two inches longer. "What if?" is how the season ends in the Tourney. What effort by all the guys; check out Caris flying through the air to grab a rebound and still making a pass while going to the ground. Very proud of the effort and the team. Michigan basketball is something to behold.

Very happy with the season. Kentucky was just too big. No more evident than in that game that Beilein needs to recruit a legitimate big. Horford is mediocre. McGary has at most one year left.

I downvoted you because our big, our superstar big, got hurt.  There isn't much you can do about that.  And we have Donnel redshirting and Doyle coming in next year.  It isn't like this was a glaring omission in recruiting.  We had a huge part of our team injured and we overcame.

love,

Might get Stauskas-like things from Irvin next year?  Assuming Stauskas, Mitch, and GRIII all go, the heart will likely be Levert, Irvin, Walton -- then wait and see what Donnal and Horford can do as bigs.  Maybe we'll get something like "Donford" from them?  Should still be a pretty good team.  Seems like every year we lose one or two that we really count on and fret over what that loss will mean for next year - but then someone (or two, or three) steps up and off we go.  I love this coaching staff that is making these kinds of things happen.

Great game. I think I would have fouled UK twice. Most of their players are not good at making free throws. If Michigan would have made their shots in the 2nd half, I think they could have won this one! Too bad but a great season. They went a lot farther than any one predicted after losing McGary!

Yeah, I don't think I would have had the actual guts to do that, but I said the same thing during the game.  Foul immediately, force the ball to a person you want shooting, and foul.  They have 1-and-1, and they are not too good shooting.  Worse case scenerio you have the ball with about 10 seconds down two points.  Best case, ball and a tie game.

With the way UK was scoring/driving at will, I didn't want them to have the last shot.

Would have been too chicken-shit to pull that strategy if I were the coach, but yeah, I think it would have been best.

That will always be one of our downfalls we are to small and get out rebounded..but great rebounding sequence to tie it up.. Gave up to many 3s... but great season
