Ray Taylor in mid season form there.

In all seriousness, good pass and catch from Garner/Funchess. Tough to make that play as a DB especially against a receiver that big.

first year where I'm not getting on the hype/talk train since I was able to (due to websites, etc). I want to see it in a game. Also, I'm a Wolverine to the core but as sports go I'm a bigger fan of CFB/CBB than my school. By that, I mean I can be honest and avoid being a homer so I can easily admit that msu is yearly consistency away from lapping us. They've been the best team in the state for a while, record regardless. IMHO, I think this program is soft. Top to bottom, they want the FB program to be gentlemen champs like it was 1900. Foote said some things recently that I didn't completely disagree with. In CFB you need a coach AND/OR players that hit that field liking to hurt people. Be as nice and clean as you want (I want that part, think Stanford as many may already be doing) but from the first to lay whistle you need to coach and play with bad intentions. We do neither. I'll hold my Spring enthusiasm for once.

But the real interesting part was David Dawson at center.  I didn't know he was being tried out at that position...   Interesting, very interesting....

Maybe this is a downer thing to say, but making spectacular catches has never been Funchess' problem.  I'd be much more excited to see a video of him making a bunch of routine catches on slant patterns without dropping any.

That was thee most bland 1-handed catch, ever.  Okay, somewhat tongue in cheek, but really, there must not have been too much else exciting in practice yesterday.

maybe Coach Nuss will actually have a jump ball to funchess...that would have looked nice against Ohio with about 20 seconds to go...either way, great play!

I hope Gardner develops the same mind meld with Funchess as he had with Gallon last year. With Funchess's size and athleticism, if they get the timing routes down, he will be damn near undefendable.
