Buckeye schadenfreude

http://www.elevenwarriors.com/2009/10/if-it-walks-like-a-duck.html#comm… "I want a thank you letter from Dick-Rod, Oregon and Joe Pa right now thanking us for saving them from this." "At least Tress can’t hide behind the “we only lose to BCS bowl teams” shtick anymore. He’s lost that fire and nepotism has invaded his staff." "Tressel needs to go NOW, or else we’re going back to mediocrity. Rich Rod’s gonna kick our asses now." Enjoy...

RR now has a great tool for taking Purdue seriously. He can also say that Purdue proved that OSU is beatable if you play them correctly. It was great of Purdue to help motivate UM for two of the six games left on their schedule.

People forget that Purdue just barely lost to Oregon and Notre Dame. With the victory today, They are definitely a team to reckon with. They gave us one hell of a time last year, as we all know by now, no... game... is.. guaranteed...

turning on Tress quick, at least the bandwagoners.......which is a LARGE part of their fan base. The ones who know football understand. They are just shakey enough on offense, that they could lose 2 or 3 more.

"Texas vs. OU: McCoy just made a bone-head INT in the red zone. See, it’s not just our QB. ;-)" Man I love Ohio State fans sometimes. Pryor is not even close to being as good a passer as Colt is.

The freshman receiver ran a wrong route. What's amazing about Colt is that he didn't even yell at anyone; he just looked mad and sat down. Compare that to Pryor's reaction after any one of his mistakes.

I just snotted on myself from laughing too hard. I especially liked the guy who was pouring himself his 11th Cuba Libre. That's a man trying to forget the pain!

I am enjoying the fear! They're actually afraid of us! We're not event hat good yet! I was in Columbus last month, wearing Michigan stuff. Every time I turned, I saw a Buckeye fan backpedaling.

The buckeye fans are freaking out before we even do anything against them. I guess they can finally realize that Pryor is not the savior they thought he was. He makes some big mistakes that cost them games. We will continue to improve over the next few years and they know it. The buckeyes sense a change in pace in the rivalry.

.. so little time. Man, that thread is a trip. Anything bad that can be said about the Vest was said. I'd be really disappointed if that thread doesn't make it to Brian's TWIS.

It's OK, but I'd rather Michigan beat them, so we don't have to live vicariously through teams like Purdue. And yeah, let's take Purdue seriously--as hard as it is for any Michigan fan to take any team seriously.

No schadenfraude until we beat OSU. I don't want us to become MSU (before last year) in which their biggest victory was us losing to App St. We have to beat OSU, dammit. I kind of hate that other teams have had the experience of beating OSU since we last did, which I know sounds ridiculous--no, that doesn't mean that I would be happy with OSU winning 5 straight undefeated seasons. Not at all.

Hmmm....Pryor yelling at Tressel on the sideline. Part of the reason Buckeye fans overuse the phrase "Dick Rod" is because they think his coaching style (he's a yeller, cusses people out) is asshole-riffic. Tressel would never do that. RR was willing to risk a game to teach a lesson when Tate got mouthy (this is what we're hearing, anyway). Tressel obviously isn't. Maybe Tressel oughta take a page from "Dick Rod's" book and start with the tough love.

is that one of the major reasons he chose OSU over Michigan is that he didn't want to play in a spread offense, preferring the pro-set at OSU that supposedly was going to pave his way to NFL stardom. If he or his high school coach had known what they were doing they would have realized that he is far better suited for the spread-option than he ever will be for a drop-back attack. The fact that he's a dick makes the irony oh-so-much-sweeter.

While I too enjoyed watching Pryor struggle, I must say their entire offense is not that good. No elite players to speak of around Pryor, with mediocre RBs and WRs filling their roster. I don't think any of their WRs can beat Warren or possibly even whoever else is back there. Herron is slow and not all that hard to bring down. I'm surprised at the lack of skill players on their offense. Our game should be competitive now. If the offense doesn't make any careless errors, I like our chances.

From Eleven Warriors, the blog where the OP found comments: "JT has officially become Lloyd Carr, then." This is classic. I have actually used this comparison a lot this year. This one is from "tom in Michigan:" "MY GOD! IT TOOK 13 YEARS TO FIRE COOPER WHEN MOST KNEW HE WAS A LOSER AFTER HIS 3RD YEAR AT OSU. THE PROGRAM MOVES TOO SLOW AND WE’RE STUCK WITH TP FOR TWO MORE YEARS. THE PROS AREN’T GOING TO BE INTERESTED. TRESSEL SHOULD HAVE BENCHED HIM AT THE BEGINNING OF THE THIRD QUARTER. WHAT A WASTE!" No mention of his part in the 2-10-1 "streak" against Michigan, though. They have also mentioned Urban Meyer, Brian Kelly ("the coach of Ohio's really good S-1 football team"), and Chris Peterson as potential replacements for Tressel. Last but not least, they mention Jon Gruden: "I say we go after John Gruden, install the wildcat/Fun&Gun and make RichRod crap his pants." I know I shouldn't be laughing so hard at their misfortune, but every time I read a smug Buckeye write "dickrod" or "scUM," it sorta builds up in me like steam in a boiler, so what better time to vent that steam with laughter than when OSU gets upset by a team called the "Boilermakers." I will sleep very well tonight knowing that a bunch of smug assholes won't. Schadenfreude, indeed.
