March Madness 2014: What games to watch? (no spoilers!)
I'd like to watch all the good games this year (since I can't watch them all). However I don't really enjoy watching games when I know the outcome. I thought it'd be cool if some of the many people following up to the minute coverage could post in this thread which games are worth watching for those people like me. I'd consider any good game an upset, near upset, buzzer beater, missed buzzer beater, or amazing performance.
But no spoilers please!
Thanks in advance.

He doesn't have time to watch all the gaames because he spends all his time reading mgoblog. Therefore he will immediately know when there is a good game from this thread and turn on his TV as needed.
I guess i don't understand what you are going for here. Are you going to DVR every game on all 4 channels that they play them on? Or is there some online On Demand thing where you can rewatch the games? Otherwise how are you gonna watch NCAA tourney games that have already taken place?
He might not DVR the games, but could record them.
The NCAA app will set a notification when a close game or upset is going on. Then you will be able to watch or listen on your mobile device.
Michigan wins it all. Sorry for the spoiler.

Now I know MSU had injuries too. That's the only way they could lose. /s
The ones that Michigan is a team competing and any others that are trending on the internet
In years past, there was this comprehensive bracket that had all of the possible information you could want about the game time and location and teams. Anyone come across something like that this year?
Well, if you're watching TruTV right now, Iowa and Tennessee could - if the Vols come to life here - turn out to be an interesting one. As for the rest, I suppose there is not much to report in a thread purposed as this one is right now. As the tournament starts in earnest tomorrow, what you'll normally see are open threads divided along lines like "Afternoon" then "Evening" then "Night" as well as Michigan-specific threads. If you want updates that eminate from MGoBlog, those threads will be the best places to find them.

You can watch all the games on trutv on replay I did it a lot last year. And its not too hard to click a game to watch and avoid seeing the score, would just be cool if someone could drop into this thread and say 'hey check out that creighton game earlier' for example if they got upset or it went down to the wire or mcdermott drops 40, etc.
And yeah this post is for tomorrow and afterwards.
edit: rofl why did i get minus'd for making such a request?

2) someone will ruin it for you anyway
3) you want to keep 1 thread ongoing with advice for you for the next 2.5 weeks
Do I need to go on..

Is this the first year that two #11 seeds play each other to get to play the #6 seed?
It seems in past years it was always the teams outside of the top 64 that played to enter the official 1st round and they would all then face the #1 seeds

It started in 2011, so this is the 4th year. I'd say Iowa is lucky to even be in this game. They pass the eye test, sure, but their blind resume isn't very worthy. However, I do hope they win.

I have no doubt that Iowa's better than BYU.
I also have no doubt that if they'd met BYU in a play-in game they'd have blown a big second half lead and found a way to lose.
March 19th, 2014 at 11:56 PM ^
Yea I agree about BYU, no clue how they got in. And Iowa goes and oes what they've done the whole 2nd half of the year, have no idea how to close a game. Looked like the better team for 35 minutes.

I didn't have BYU in either, but they're 45 at kenpom and 46 in the power ranking at massey so there must be something on their resume. Both those numbers are good enough to get you in.
They're way ahead of Colorado, anyway, who's an 8 seed despite nine double-digit losses. That was the headscratcher for me.

Ok then, guess no one else is interested and i deserve negs and snark.

Well, one piece of non-snarkish advice I can offer is that the "watch replay" links on the "March Madness" app that CBS and the NCAA have made available is immediately above, or under depending on how you got to the link, the final score of the game you're clicking on. I have no idea how you could identify the replay link for the game you're after and not see the score.

But part of the excitement is seeing these games live, and switching between games while they are going on. If you have the proper devices, just set up a computer and iPad next to the TV and have as many games going as possible.
