OT: Jimmy hats covering the Domers
It is now nearly the 4th qtr, and the Domers look like they're about to get pants'd by the USC Prophylactics. I had actually hoped that ND would win this game, (I know - its not over, but right now, their D looks BAD). It would have validated the UM win in a big way. Instead, the Irish are merely living up to the chant, "OVER-RATED!" as they have under Weis.
So, two questions:
1. Even if ND wins out this season, do they get to a BCS bowl at 10-2? Or will pollsters be loathe to rank them high enough to qualify?
2. Is ND Nation going to be trying to find a way to add more BTUs to that fire under Weis?

Said Weis is gone if nd loses to USC. Damn, I love me some Weis! (Nah, I don't think he will be gone).

That's just because Mark May is angling for that job.
Which would be more awesome, Charlie Weis or Mark May as the coach of notre dame?

Goodbye Charlie. Hello, Brian.

We WANT Chalie coaching that team
We NEED Charlie coaching that team!

I am not scared of Brian Kelly going to Notre Dame. Coach Rod is still a better coach.

Charlie Weis remaining in South Bend is good for us.

will get ND into a BCS game.
No matter how fraudulent they are.
BCS games are about ratings not matchups.

Love seeing ND and Charlie underperform despite very good recruiting. For all the talent they have, they seem to play with little confidence. Clausen can make any throw when he has time, but put a little pressure on him and he chickens out. While I enjoy seeing ND struggle, I just hope Brian Kelly doesn't get the job there. Would love to see some SEC or PAC10 team snatch him away from Cinci at the end of this season. Other than that, I could care less what happens to ND and what bowl they make it to.

Would have been my third question, but I could bring myself to ask it. "Dear Lord, 'please, no' ..."

It's not over yet. USC needs to drive for a score right here, right now.

considering what's at stake with their coaching position. If ND barely misses out on a BCS bowl, I think Charlie keeps the spot. As usual, ND folks will manage to come up with enough excuses like Floyd's injury, Clausen's toe, and narrow "unlucky" losses.

Don't forget the refs. Like Brian said, notre dame never loses a game. Hard to fire a coach that never loses a game.

One second left what do you do??

Watch Weis fuck it up

If your ND...lose.

I don't really understand how you get that extra second put back on the clock. Doesn't the clock stop when the referees wave their arms, not when the ball hits the ground?
Well doesn't matter anyway.

Why the hell did Jimmy sit there and let 15 seconds run off the clock? The announcers said nothing about it, but it cost them 2 plays considering the ensuing roughing the passer. Charlie and Jimmy get off scott free. Tom Hammond talks about Jimmeh for Heisman, and hopefully Charlie stays employed. Terrible clock management. I'd be so fired up if I was an ND fan right now.

Um No?
how do you plan for a roughing the passer penalty in your offense?

the whale employed.

Needs to stay put at the sports desk. He loves to put Lou in his place, and piss him off. When Lou was trying to say "Notre Dame will win b/c they beat Washington and Washington beat USC" Mark was just glaring at him, with total disbelief in Lou's retartedness. I guess if ND would have won, UM would be on top according to Lou-isam.

Please shoot me if we ever get to:
"And the question was, has ...... closed the gap with college football's elite and based on today's game, I think you can say they're not quite there yet but maybe they're gaining. Oh, absolutely, they are gaining."

... we're not even there yet. Maybe next year :)

woo! i was hoping usc would win a close one so:
1) Michigan goes another .000000001% ahead of notre dame today!
2) A close loss will keep Charlie there for at least another year!
