OT: Draft Day Movie

Submitted by WestQuad on

www.draftdaythemovie.com  starring Kevin Costner.is a movie about the NFL Draft.  I've watched the draft every year since 88 and I'm not going to watch this movie.  Though if Costner were the GM of the Lions I would watch it.  Fictional GM.of the Lions.  I couldn't watch Costner playing Matt Millen.

The most inaccurate crock of trash Hollywood ever turned into a major motion picture that was "based on a true story". I cry laughing at how bad/BS it is. I can't help it. "Now, we ain't gonna steer you anywhere, you choose your own school, Mike (couple walks away) Ooohhhh, I hope he picks Ole Miss...shhh...don't let him hear us!" So much B.S. in that movie. Best is the HS coach that just couldn't coach Big Mike up. Man, he'll never move on to become a major CFB coa.....WHAAAAAAA?!? It was the hot/notatallhotinreallife Mom that made him a star. Oh, and Big Mike totally didn't enter a major college with the reading level of a 5th grader. He Rocky montage'd to get those grades up. Pushed it to the limit. I hate that movie so much haha. As for Draft Day, it looks (I thought it was) like an NFL network TV movie. I thought it was! Like that cartoon they make....looks terrible.

If it was a documentary they could have named it:

"Worse than Millen: The 'New' Cleveland Browns Draft Since 1999"

or

"From Tim Couch to Brandon Weeden: You Know How this Ends"

or

"Clarkie's Broken TV: F'N Browns"

But it was cheaper to shoot it in Cleveland...go figure.

I don't under stand the movie, I believe it's supposed to be modern day, so it's not a story. I feel like this is Mr. 3000, RIP Bernie Mac.

It's just going to be confusing since, from what I understand, they're using the real teams but not real players, coaches, etc.  Honestly, if Cleveland comes out ahead or "wins" the movie or something, it just seems kind of cruel to Browns fans.

I would not give 0.000001 shits about this movie except for it being about a Cleveland GM and draft day. I'm interested to see how it all falls apart in the following season.

when I first saw the trailer for this movie I thought it was a joke... sadly, it wasn't...

The NFL disgusts me, and the idea of paying money to watch the 'drama' of an NFL draft makes little to no sense to me...

Still love Kevin Costner, even if alot of his movies are crappy. But he was in The Big Chill as the dead friend. I don't think I'll see this in theaters, but I'll definitely give it a watch on VHS, i mean Blu Ray.

To take crap from it's the Detroit Lions.  What are you going to talk shit about, our city?.......do I even need to get into that?, our football team's success?.......yeah 0-16, our draft picks?......really?  You were bound to pick one good WR when you draft 4 in a row.

What's your argument, that your steaming pile of shit smells slightly better than ours?

For the record, no, I couldn't care less about this movie.

This might be the post most deserving of a "Lighten up, Francis" in a very long time.

Seriously, chill out. Grow a sense of humor. Generally speaking, NFL smack talk is lighthearted humorous ribbing, not something worth getting in a tizzy over.

I recommend reading KissingSuzyKolber regularly. They do it right. Everyone makes fun of everyone and the result is hilarious.

I'll most definately be seeing it. I probably watch NFL network more than any other channel, and the months of February-May are usually my favorite part of the NFL year besides the actual season. I'm hoping it'll be as indepth as "3 and Out" went with the football program, although you can't compare the Browns with Michigan football, even the 2008 team.

but I don't think it is an NFL network movie. It's a major motion picture, I think. At first I thought it was but only because I first noticed the commercial ON the NFL Network. I asked and learned it was not funded by them and is not being shown there but in theatres. So, yeah, I laughed. It's an actual movie, I think.
