What do we all think?  I'm personally a fan.

Edit:  Here is a full version in Blue

I really like the style. So much cleaner. I'm not a fan of "Wolverines" though. It's not as much a part of our identity as some other schools. I'd rather it just say Michigan.

I meant cleaner than the current look. The maize/blue piping down the sides really throws me off. Then theres a block of maize/blue on the neck. These are solid blue or maize with a very modest accent of alternate color. I think they're cleaner. I don't particularly hate any of them, but I'm with you in that I would prefer them to be as clean as possible, like the example above, or (minus the double maize sleeve/neck stroke; one stroke will do):

I thought the athletic dept put out a release stating that the official logo for Mich was suppose to be a Maize block M and not a solid blue..

still waiting for them to change the M in center of our court

But they're not good.

...and I don't want to change ANYTHING about what we're doing. Why can't we play around with these in the non-conference?

...is how little Michigan makes, off of licensed apparel deals.  If anybody thinks that Michigan is getting rich off of all of these stupid little uniform tweaks, think again.

I don't think it is worth it.  At least not to Michigan.  Maybe adidas is getting some coin out of the deal.

By its own accounting, roughly 5% of Athletic Department revenues come out of all licensing.  Compare that, to 22% from PSD's and other individual giving.

I thought we had the richest contract with Adidas?

Our contract made other schools run and head for the hills.

Why the FUCK are we doing things like every other Adidas school?

This is MICHIGAN. We should ALWAYS have our stuff customized.

Does Oregon follow the Nike template? No. And they're OREGON! They ARE the NIKE template. People don't get to do anything they do...

Michigan should always be different than everyone else. I'm not saying no alternates - I'm saying, we should be the only school that gets to put a block logo on the front of the football jersey. Our basketball (and every other sport) should be one of a kind too.

Like a few have voiced before me, leave Michigan on the front, and I'm all for it. Nothing wrong with at least one alternative saying Wolverines though.

Like most others I'm not too keen on the "Wolverines" replacing "Michigan" on the front. Given Adldas' history, I was relieved. They couldve been ALOT worse. I miss the days of the black socks and Block M. Im just hoping these things dont tear after tipoff.

I coach youth basketball. For the younger kids, we could pick any nickname for the team. I chose, "Wolverines," because it would be odd to pick "Michigan" for a team based in southern California. I think it would be another way to build the brand for those kids to embrace, "Wolverines" and buy some Michigan gear based on their time playing for the "Wolverines." I agree that it's awfully scrunched up on the front, but that never hurt Al Albuquerque.

I don't really like the current blue jerseys with that weird curve over the chest (just above the Adidas and B1G logos). It always looks like the cut of a coctail dress to me. The maize jerseys have the same thing but it doesn't stand out so much to me there.

The new ones look fine, like others I'd prefer it say Michigan instead, but not a big deal to me either way.

The design isn't too bad, but "WOLVERINES" looks weird.  We've always sort of kept the school nickname at arm's length, never using it on uniforms or having a mascot.  A jersey with it makes me think of some knockoff you'd find at Meijer.

Everyone's like, "if only it were MICHIGAN instead." But. Like. That's the reason why it's new. Otherwise it's be basically the same as the current maize.

Is it so hard for Adidas to not have every school have the same template? You play for Michigan, not Team Adidas. I hate that this happens. Nike is no stranger to money grubbing brand loyalty, but at least all the teams look different when they look goofy instead of looking the same and goofy.

Wolverines is one of the most unique nicknames in all of sport. Quite frankly, I don't believe it's utilized enough by the athletic department.

That said, you always go with the city, state, university name, etc. -- not the nickname -- on the road jersey.
