What this thread is for: It's an ad-hoc way of tracking what threads and comments get removed. Mods that remove a thread should post the title here with a brief reason as to why the thread is gone.

Don't comment in this thread unless you have to: if you leave an irrelevant comment in this thread it will be deleted (see: "cumbrously long").

Things we moderate a lot:

  1. Politics. Don’t you get enough of this everywhere else?
  2. Noise/snowflakes. We ask our moderators to try really hard not to censor ideas but some ideas are so tiresome and retread and badly argued that they’re not worth keeping around. If you’re getting a substantial amount of downvotes we’ll look to see if you’re posting an unpopular opinion that you can support. If you can’t support it politely and rationally, or if you don’t acknowledge the holes in your argument, it’s noise.
  3. Useless content from other sites. Clickbait is annoying. 247, WTKA always get the benefit of the doubt.
  4. The Drew Sharp Memorial Don’t Feed the Professional Trolls Rule. Pete Finebaum has taken the place of the late Sharp. Valenti and Chatsports are the other two on the ban list. Bleacher Report is off the list but still under close observation.
  5. Bewbs and general misogyny/objectifying of women. We tried one year of this and our female readership shot up after being really low. This means it’s a good rule: however much you enjoy cutting loose with the guys, we have tens of thousands of readers it drives away.

Isn't it finally time to add a written policy strictly prohibiting crapping on new recruits in their "Hello" thread, regardless of the sport?

The "Hello Micah Mazzccua" thread has been turned into a cesspool rather than a celebration, as poster "Hei2man" dissed the young man's decision to commit to U of M and was met with a barrage of criticism.

We should all be embarrassed that Micah and his family and friends who will be reading his "Hello" thread will see such garbage. 

"Hello" threads should be for one purpose and one purpose ONLY: to welcome our new recruits to Michigan. Anyone not understanding this simple concept is frankly neither intelligent enough nor worthy of the privilege of having a voice on the MGoBoard.

I didn't diss anybody quit running here crying and making things up. I posted his composite ranking because it wasn't included in the original post and people started calling me names and derailed the thread all on their own. That the discussion morphed into something else was totally on them and not because of anything I originally posted. People like you who try to get posters banned by misrepresenting facts frankly shouldn't be posting here either, and given your history of name calling and insults directed at me you should be the last person to talk. Nice try buddy.

Oh how I long for the day this website's ownership uses IP address tracking to weed out the riffraff more effectively and permanently, and then screen out attempts by offenders to re-register under new usernames.

A couple of questions for you, "Hei2man": 1) how many previous accounts of yours have been banned on MGoBlog? And please be 100% honest with your response.  (BTW,  I'm still on my first and only account here, and I'm posting this with 100% honesty.)

And 2) Why do you feel it necessary to ruin recruits' "Hello" threads by posting negative comments within those threads?  Can't you either congratulate them or sit the thread out rather than denigrate the young men who have attained the scholarships they've dreamed of and worked so hard to earn?

The only thing sad is that until you're banned, you'll continue to pollute threads, in particular "Hello" threads.  

Won't answer the first question, huh? EXACTLY what I expected.

And since I didn't want to pollute Mr. Mazzccua's Hello thread as you and a few others have done, here's the response you were seeking when I posted *** several minutes ago in that thread:

My name is not Maizen it's Hei2man, and what makes this blog "substantially worse" are the keyboard warriors telling everyone who they disagree with to "fuck off" instead of having productive discourse. My advice would be to not let things things affect you so personally to the point you're shouting profanities at other posters over the internet. Bad look.
