We can laugh all we want but it is actually a decent staff for Bowling Green. If Loeffler can manage to put together a couple of 9-3 type seasons, he will be at Rutgers, Illinois, Vanderbilt, or the like in a couple of years.

Here's the exact text because it still sparks joy to this day.  Oh and this was a sextuple post which just made it better.

I think Hoke has changed the tide on the rivalry. Hell people in Ohio are starting to believe him. Never in a million years I would have thought that. Selling Michigan jerseys is a good start.

None of the Michigan connections matter, he hired Van Gorder as the DC.  They'll be a shit show on that side of the ball by the middle of year 2 or earlier.

Hoke didn't correct the situation that Rich Rod left him with zero quarterbacks after Denard Robinson. Brian Kelly said the year before that he overestimated Michigan's offense (as in there was no QB) which set the table to not worry about the passing game and thus the shutout.

Aside from Campbell, I think those hires are uninspiring.

Especially at the MAC level, I think it would make sense to look more at up-and-coming types rather than relative retreads.

I know that Loeffler is "our guy" and was Brady's QB coach, but is there any evidence that he's good at anything beyond that? Looking at the S&P stats, he's coordinated the following offenses:

#70 in 2011 (Temple)

#61 in 2012 (Auburn)

#77 in 2013 (VTech)

#86 in 2014 (VTech)

#56 in 2015 (VTech)

#117 in 2016 (BC)

#89 in 2017 (BC)

#88 in 2018 (BC)

All signs point toward the guy being kind of a crappy coordinator. It's weird that someone offered him a head coaching job with that resume.

It should be interesting. I loved BG and had a great time pursuing my undergraduate studies that that fine institution. I hope the falc shit up and win some games and all that jazz.

Kidding aside this really should be interesting. BG, like most MAC schools, gets a good coach and some key recruits and lights it up 2-4 years then dies...and the death is usually a hard one lol.

I was there during undergrad and working as an ATC with football when Meyer was there (I left dec 2004). Couldn't stand meyer but hell of an experience.

I'll probably head up to a game or two this year hope they do well.

You kinda wonder what happens to some of these assistant coaches , they seem to fall off the map  and than reappear again from no where !
