FSU WR George Campbell (former 5 star UM commit) transfer to Penn St.
Penn State's had a mass of transfers put of State College so far this offseason but here's one coming in.
Campbell was a 5 star recruit out of high school and he initially committed to Hoke and co in July 2013 before decomitting in December and going to FSU. Campbell's FSU career has been a bust due to injuries though, only playing in 7 games and catching 13 passes over 4 years. We'll see if he has any success with Frames.

Jerk.

Man this site is fast!
February 20th, 2019 at 3:20 PM ^
His career has also been a bust because he can't catch. He was fast as hell as a recruit, but had terrible hands. Watched him at a couple of camps and the dude just can't catch the ball.

In other words --- Juwan Johnson version 2.0!
We'll call this "transfer trade" a net wash.

Should've moved to defense. Could've potentially been an Ernest Shazor type safety or played a hybrid Viper type position.

Wouldn't you consider the guys leaving as good or better than him?

Edit: Already stated

He’s not only still around but has another year to play?? Still coasting off that recruiting hype. After his “committing to me is for real and I’d never leave UM” to “lol go FSU my uncle told me to” in a minute makes me happy he’s been a massive bust. Injuries or no, 13 catches ain’t shit.

How classy.

Nice work. Those pearls don’t clutch themselves.
February 20th, 2019 at 6:30 PM ^
You do know that pearl clutching means being shocked as much as disapproving right? How do you interpret any level of shock in my response?
Good effort though Champ! If only you were as witty as you thought you were.

You showed me! What next, “down in front” or “get off my lawn”?
February 20th, 2019 at 4:17 PM ^
Maybe could have made a good speed rush DE.
February 20th, 2019 at 4:45 PM ^
If I remember right, ESPN was higher on him as a defender and liked the idea of him as an end.
EDIT: Yup. This was from their scouting report on him.
This is what makes this player unique. Outside of the offensive line he could literally play every position on the field and while we believe he's either a wide receiver or safety, he shines at this level as a rush defensive end. His speed and first step explosiveness are outstanding. If he weighed more he'd be a legit candidate as an end. He's a natural playmaker that has good football instincts.

If Frames was even half as good at coaching as he is at recruiting, Penn State would be really, really good.
February 21st, 2019 at 8:41 AM ^
What’s your definition of “really, really good?”
February 20th, 2019 at 4:35 PM ^
Hey, Ronnie Bell already has a better college career than a FIVE star from four cycles ago!
February 20th, 2019 at 8:08 PM ^
Shhhhhh. Don’t get Maizen worked up.
February 20th, 2019 at 10:27 PM ^
Don't worry, Feb&Mar are troll season and any mention of Ronnie Bell is irresistible trolllick.
Plus, I have all my Dora the Explorer memes ready to go.
February 20th, 2019 at 4:50 PM ^
Cool. So now Franklin can waste his talent.
February 20th, 2019 at 5:05 PM ^
For clarity, Campbell was in the class of 2015...so this is "only" his 5th year. Mistakenly, I went back and looked at the class of 2014 (on Rivals) just to see where Campbell fit. Although it was the wrong class, I was amazed at how good the 5 stars from 2014 turned out to be...from Myles Garret and Jabril Peppers at the top to Nick Chubb as the lowest 5 star, there are so many who had great college careers and are starting out with real good NFL careers. I did go and look at the 2015 class to see if Campbell had any "bust" company, definitely not as deep as 2014.

I predict he'll have a big game against us this year (and do nothing the rest of the season).
February 20th, 2019 at 6:51 PM ^
By definition, it will be a BIG game.
February 20th, 2019 at 11:11 PM ^
Now you know it's only a big game if UM loses...

Dude's got stone hands. Great for Roberto Duran, bad for a WR.
February 20th, 2019 at 6:18 PM ^
Stable of WRs is full. Afraid of competition.
February 20th, 2019 at 6:22 PM ^
Hey, Hot Hands. You’re the best player on our team.

I know this is obvious, but man Hoke and his staff were terrible recruiters/scouts of the offensive skill positions. So many busts. Woof
February 20th, 2019 at 7:16 PM ^
I really think Hoke recruited offense using the recruiting service star ratings and zero actual analysis. Consequently, he ended up with huge busts like Green - people that real coaches could see where overrated.
February 20th, 2019 at 7:21 PM ^
Expecting more reverses from Frames
February 21st, 2019 at 12:09 AM ^
How the might have fallen
February 21st, 2019 at 3:54 AM ^
To think that Mason Cole finished as the best of his teammates at the time (Campbell & Artavis Scott)

There is a hand full of kids recruited over the last 15-20 years that we lost or missed out on that bother me still to this day! Here are some that still annoy me. Campbell should of stayed put! He would of been huge here.
George Campbell, Desaun Hand, Desean Jackson, Demarco Murray, mike Weber, Rojo, Adoree Jackson, Najee, AJ Dillon, Julio Jones just to name a few.
There are more but these kill me!
