New in-state offer: 2022 CB Will Johnson
Michigan offered 2022 cornerback Will Johnson from Grosse Pointe (MI) South. He has offers from Kentucky and MSU and a few others. He's also the son of former Michigan defensive back Deon Johnson, who played for the Wolverines in the early 1990s.
Here are his highlights if you're interested (LINK).
He visited MSU this past season when Michigan went in and beat the Spartans, so that could be a good thing. But AFAIK, he didn't visit Michigan.

Mom went to Michigan as well, IIRC. Freshman CB offers are rare, right? Legacy recruits with talent are some of my favorites. I hope we land him!

From Grosse Pointe South? A cake eater?
Grosse Pointe last won the state high school football championship in 1954.
Last D1 player from GP South was Reid Fragel in 2009 who went to OSU on the promise he could play tight end. Enter Urban Meyer and he was moved to OT.

That's the school that kept my alma mater (Bedford) from the state final four during our undefeated regular season in 2010. We were up 7 in the second half, a cloud of fog completely engulfed the stadium and you could hardly see the field from the stands, we fumbled twice, and both were returned for touchdowns by GP. We retook the lead late by a point after GP missed an extra point, but GP won on a field goal with no time left. Devastating.

Yep, an old coworker of mine knew the family. UM wanted him on the OL, OSU promised he could play TE.

GP South is my alma mater, and I'm not sure we've had any recruited players from South since the inception of the school back in 1968, when Grosse Pointe North opened. The only player listed on the UM database from South since then is Mike Kaselitz, and I think he was a walk-on.
