Penn State has three more in transfer portal

Submitted by OwenGoBlue on January 13th, 2019 at 7:29 PM

Joining WR Juwan Johnson in the transfer portal are S Lamont Wade, CB Zachariah McPhearson and WR Brandon Polk.

Of the new trio, Wade is the notable one as a speedy c/o 2017 5-star corner prospect who has since moved to safety and was likely going to be a starter next year. Polk started 7 games last year but was replaced by a freshman.

Penn State been recruiting well but between Johnson, Wade and a bunch of early entries they're losing a pile of expected 2019 starters. I'm feeling good about that game in Happy Valley.

I’m not feeling good about a probable white out night game, but if any coach can fuck it up it’s Franklin.

I think Penn State’s window, under Franklin, has closed pretty much for good.

That being said, let’s not make the mistake of assuming a likely white out night game is going to be easy next year.

Are any of these guys appealing to play next year?

In addition to being called a bad name the NCAA is now accepting being looked at crossly by a squirrel on campus as a vaild reason for hardship waiver so I'm sure they will petition.

Remember so long ago when everyone around here was freaking about the Solomon transfer?  I don’t necessarily like it but the world has changed-transfers will become more and more common. Only losing one or two potential starters per year will soon be thought of as a good year

I think we could take advice from the basketball team here...talk less and do more.

For as much as everyone hates Franklin, he’s at least got a B10 title under his belt and a win over OSU. Far more than we can say. Maybe he does choke in big games, maybe he does suck at in-game management, maybe he’s been punching above his weight class...but he’s at least won the games he needed to win one time.

Until we can actually say the same thing, I don’t believe we have a lot of room to talk.

The number of idiotic comments posted on that twitter feed frightens me.  I am shocked at how many really dumb people are out there, and how they managed to get onto a computer.

I am most definitely ditching twitter now, it's just not worth seeing that side of society.

Juwan was a head scratcher. He is starter and he wants to walk.  Seems strange.

I know we have been joking about losing the program but this seems odd.

I assume it'll still be a tough game, but I've never been particularly impressed by Franklin as a coach and at this point he can't seem to out-recruit his own deficiencies, at least not compared to teams like OSU and UM in the division.

Michigan and PSU have pretty similar records over the last four years, actually almost identical, 38-15 for PSU, 38-14 for UM, conference record identical as well.  The h2h favors UM, hopefully that will continue into 2019, they have one big ten title, so that would probably offset the h2h advantage and make it pretty much even.

10 game winning streak this year. Beat ass of all teams rated 3rd or worse making us solid number 2 in the conference. Beat MSU Wisconsin and destroyed PSU. All those teams wouldve looked much better without losses to us.

Much like we have no room to talk to bama or OSU fans any PSU fans out there should know their place.

Ten wins for 3 of the past 4 seasons. In that only non-10-win-season, we were forced to play our 3rd string QB because both of the other QBs were hurt. Side note: we won every game that said third string QB did not appear in.

I’d say we are doing great, especially considering where we were 4 years ago.
