OSU 12-4-4 (5-2-3-2) is currently leading the Big Ten. U-M 7-8-6 (3-4-4-2) is tied for 3rd with ND and MN, but has played 11 games vs 9 for ND and 10 for MN. Hopefully Hughes' return will lead to a win. Norris is not listed in the lineup (to be posted below).

Can anybody tell me why we seem so... average? I know they had a great run to finish the season last year but why are they struggling so much this year? Didn't we have Red retire so we could get Mel and stop our backslide?

Lack of scoring talent. What we have is on the first line (and Norris is out tonight). Instead of a 2nd line of scoring talent, it's more gritty. They may score, but then we have games with plenty of shots that don't find their way into the net.

WIth the lack of talent, this team needs to be on the ball defensively, but isn't.

Michigan has been on TV 3–count them—3 times this season.

All of the B1G truthers trying to sell that it was going to be a great idea and better exposure wound up being full of shit just as I said they were back in 2013.

This is miserable. This conference does not give a sliver of a crap about hockey. They put a bunch of people in Farmington Hills out of jobs just so they could use hockey to sell subscriptions to their poorly-run BTN+ streams.

Popularity of hockey on campus is at a low that I’ve personally never seen before. It’s just another sport now.

BTN has a hockey game on tonight but they do NOT have any hockey each of the next 3 Fridays.

Which is, frankly, crazy.

A typical winter (January-February) BTN weekend should look like this:

Friday: hockey at 6:30 & 9.  A weekly double-header.  Even the Eastern Time Zone schools can host the occasional game at 9: when students are in session some of them will show up.  Would perhaps be a cool atmosphere.

Saturday: men's college hoops, all the games that aren't on the other TV platforms.

Sunday: various women's hoops games & wrestling duel-meets in the afternoon.  One men's game in the evening.

BTN+ would still be necessary.  There's no way BTN could show every hockey game.  But they could do a hell of a lot better than they currently do.
