D-Line CC: Mike Trgovac?
I’m hearing a lot of chatter about Michigan alum and current Raiders D-Line coach Mike Trgovac. Nothing confirmed, just a face to keep your eye on.
January 8th, 2019 at 6:03 PM ^
Not going to move the needle much for recruiting but he is an alum. As a Packers fan I would hope that he doesn't still have the Dom Capers stink on him.
January 8th, 2019 at 7:09 PM ^
What happened to Dom? He was a very good coordinator.
January 8th, 2019 at 6:04 PM ^
First time I remember seeing his name kicked around on here was 2010 when some wanted him to replace Rich Rod as head coach.
Hasn't coached in college though since the mid-90s. Have to wonder about his recruiting capabilities/abilities/interest.
Though, to be fair, similar questions regarding his predecessor.
January 8th, 2019 at 7:40 PM ^
He was mentioned around here earlier than that, when some people got excited because he was seen around Ann Arbor and they thought he would replace Carr. Others said to calm down, and that he was probably just visiting Bo. (Obviously, this was when Bo was still alive.).

Thanks for clearing up that last part.
January 8th, 2019 at 6:07 PM ^
Looks a little sleepy. Needs more Swag.
January 8th, 2019 at 6:09 PM ^
Someone photoshop some blinged-out shades on that.
January 8th, 2019 at 7:48 PM ^
Speaking of clapping, where did the Brady Hoke HELLO post go? Weeeeellll, time to start a new one.
January 8th, 2019 at 8:33 PM ^
What?
January 8th, 2019 at 10:18 PM ^
That's hot.
January 8th, 2019 at 6:09 PM ^
Trgovac and Harbaugh can share the same can of dip.
January 8th, 2019 at 6:53 PM ^
HEYYYY, he wears a headset!!! Can he still hear football with that on and how is his pad level?
January 8th, 2019 at 7:27 PM ^
Looks like he wears all his pads right around his waist!
January 8th, 2019 at 8:08 PM ^
Not enough dip in the can for the both of 'em

Larry Foote for LB coach
January 8th, 2019 at 7:15 PM ^
Why?
January 8th, 2019 at 7:40 PM ^
Why should he? Because he played here or because he is the best possible pick? Because he isn't the best pick so that leaves 1 stupid reason why.
January 8th, 2019 at 7:47 PM ^
Please enlighten us with who the best pick is then.
January 8th, 2019 at 8:16 PM ^
I love retorts like this. Tell me exactly who is better and why Larry Foote is not a reasonable candidate for LB coach? Or are you just shitting on this for no reason?
He went to Michigan so yes, that helps given that we had two coaches just give us the finger for our biggest rival. He played over a decade in the league (look at the benefit Antonio Pierce had at ASU, particularly recruiting), and has been coach in that position in the NFL.
So tell me again why that's such a terrible suggestion and why your phantom, mystery pick is so much better?
January 8th, 2019 at 10:02 PM ^
Yeah I love how there’s always that ass hole retort with zero follow up to support the poster being an ass hole. Larry Foote would be a good get
January 8th, 2019 at 10:14 PM ^
Mike Siravo
Spencer Danielson
Cort Dinneson
Is 3 off of the top of my head that's way better. Do some research instead of just throwing out random explayers
January 8th, 2019 at 10:30 PM ^
I will give you credit for actually coming up with names. Very few people do that so I'll tip my cap.
But he's not just a random ex-player. There are many, many ex-michigan linebackers to choose from if that was the mark.
Foote was a LB coach in the NFL last year so even though you want to be condescending about it, it's a relatively justifiable option no matter how you slice it.
January 9th, 2019 at 9:23 AM ^
I googled these names and nothing I read indicates that they are any better for the position that Foote. What is your reasoning?
January 9th, 2019 at 10:13 AM ^
Lol Siravo was lb coach of the year just 2 years ago. Ok Foote coached last year in the NFL, and? So did Pep 2 years ago. Just because you coached in the NFL doesn't mean you are a great coach in college. I'm not saying Foote can't be a great coach, I'm just saying stop throwing out ex Michigan players and acting like they are the best hire.
January 8th, 2019 at 10:15 PM ^
So are you going to come back and give a better suggestion or what?
January 9th, 2019 at 11:04 AM ^
Well don't forget LF is from Detroit and could possibly help solidify recruiting in that area.
January 9th, 2019 at 11:12 AM ^
That's true, but how much is that really going to pay off more than now?
January 8th, 2019 at 6:11 PM ^
Can we please hire some proven college coaches. Michigan is the dumping grounds for washed up NFL coaches.
January 8th, 2019 at 6:44 PM ^
Amen!!
January 8th, 2019 at 7:39 PM ^
Pep and.. ?
January 8th, 2019 at 8:46 PM ^
GERG
January 9th, 2019 at 10:33 AM ^
Let's see...
Mattison, who this board just FREAKED THE FUCK OUT on b/c he left for OSU instead of retired. But he was a good DC here for Hoke, then a very good DL coach and recruiter.
Zordich I guess? Everyone acknowledges he's excellent.
And that's it?
So yeah those guys and Pep.
January 8th, 2019 at 6:11 PM ^
He hasn't been in the college game for quite a while—can he recruit?
January 8th, 2019 at 6:27 PM ^
Probably not. Which is the main reason I don't want a guy like this. I don't give a shit where he went to college either. Just want someone young and hungry and a damn good recruiter.
January 8th, 2019 at 6:31 PM ^
Problem is the youngsters are rambunctious and think they have to keep moving on up. They haven't been shitcanned yet in their career so they bolt after the first disagreement. See also (probably) Fisch, Jed.
January 8th, 2019 at 6:42 PM ^
Yep. Like the old tale--there are two rams, one young and one old, perched on a hill overlooking a herd of sheep. The younger one says to the older one, "Hey, let's run down there and fuck one of those sheep!"
And the older one says, "No, son. Let's walk down there and fuck them all."
Dammit, we're Michigan. Let's fuck ALL the sheep...wait...that didn't come out right.
January 8th, 2019 at 6:54 PM ^
clarence, you're making the livestock nervous here on the farm.
January 8th, 2019 at 7:17 PM ^
I have never heard this "old tale"
January 8th, 2019 at 7:21 PM ^
It's actually a quote from the film Colors. Which is not a good film. That's just a great line.
January 8th, 2019 at 7:59 PM ^
you might not have liked colors, but it had a fair amount of realistic gangster life in it albeit some of the cleanest cut, nicest looking gangsters you'd ever meet. i'm an O.G., so to speak, but those were reasonable representations of gangsters from my era back in socal.
January 8th, 2019 at 8:30 PM ^
I hear you. I still don't think it was a very good film. That love interest subplot...
And, um, I'm not exactly pro-cop. I mean, look at my username.
January 8th, 2019 at 8:45 PM ^
sure, none of my guys were dating the gangster chicas and none of the chicas looked like the female protagonist in the movie either.
i don't know what/who our user name is in the context of a movie/series/TV show. assumedly he's some kind of outlaw given your comment.
January 8th, 2019 at 10:05 PM ^
Here you go. CB is a character from the film Robocop, a big favorite of mine. He's the crime boss of Old Detroit. I like you, man, and I know you were a cop!
January 8th, 2019 at 10:33 PM ^
Can you fly, Bobby?
January 8th, 2019 at 11:43 PM ^
Oooooo, guns, guns, guns! Come on, Sal! The Tigers are playin' to-night!
...And I never miss a game.
January 8th, 2019 at 11:11 PM ^
You don't recognize the bad guy from Robocop?
I haz a sad
