Predcitons about tomorrow's CFB Championship

Submitted by xtramelanin on January 6th, 2019 at 9:24 PM

Mates,

Tomorrow at 8 pm on ESPN.  Alabama is a 4 1/2 point favorite and the game is going to be played out west in the 49er's newish stadium in Santa Clara, CA.   At a minimum, I am hoping for a very good game.  I guess I can't help but root for Clemson, all things being equal, but I get that some will want to call in a meteor strike.

Anyway, simple question tonight:

Who do you think wins tomorrow's CFB championship game, and is that different than who you want to win the game?

I would be surprised if the scoring is that high.  It's been raining so friggin hard here in Sacramento.  Guessing the field will be absolute shit.

Why did they pick Santa Clara to play this game? All sorts of weird to me.

Heard tix are cheap.  Too far for Bama and Clemson fans and Bay Area fans don't give a shit and will trying to get home from work.

Damn, usually not this negative.  Apologies. Hope it all works out.

In an expose released 2 hours before the game, both teams are disqualified for rampant steroids and bagmen.  Also included is every team ranked above Michigan resulting in Michigan as the national champion.

I'm sure your phallically challenged body can't handle lifting more than 135 lb on squats.  But have fun watching the game.

Did you actually go to Michigan or are you a truck driver?    Truck driver blog?

Did you manage to break 1000 on your SAT?

I don't have any desire to watch it for similar reasons. Programs and conditions built for each other. No way this is good for college football. I know Saban and other slappies like to think this has a Lakers/Celtics rivalry vibe to it, or the Bulls/Pistons, but It's not the same. What they should do is have a regular season champion and then a 'March madness' kind of scenario so that top top teams and conferences can have a chance at excitement and drama, instead of the two 'best' teams all the time.

Alabama 28

Clemson 23

Clemson’s DL will absolutely give Bama’s OL fits, but I think Bama’s passing game will carry them for most of the game and Bama’s D will get off the field enough.

I have no idea. Clemson chewed through an incredibly weak conference, but is also clearly elite, so it feels impossible to say how good they are. I don't care who wins as long as it's more entertaining than the first round.

Alabama will throw for the winning touchdown with 2 seconds left but ref will call offensive pass interference for an illegal pick play.
