North Dakota State should be in FBS - maybe even the B1G (they are better than at least Illinois and Rutgers). Why stay in FCS just to dominate every year?
Sort of the same conversation about Alabama - why not just make the jump to the NFL? Of course, they would have to cut some players to get back under the salary cap... budump bump.

the sons and i are talking, curious about two things
1. how would NDakota state do in a P5 league? okay in the pac12? what about the big 12 or the B10?
2. how many of the starters of each team, particularly NDSt. since they look pretty smoking hot right now, would make it on a D-1 team as a starter or on the 2-deep, say in the MAC or even one of the P5 conferences?
what do you guys think?

Probably average or slightly better FBS team. The problem is that, by moving to fbs, they would lose a big recruiting advantage they have now (being top program in FCS). Their program might actually lose in recruiting by making the move. Hard to say - App St struggled in their first few years after moving up, but are doing better now.

1) It is literally the only college football game on today.
2) NDSU and EWU are both good Teams that frequently beat FBS opponents.
3) NDSU has been even more dominant in their division than past 10 years than Bama has been in D-1A.
In short, probably yes.
