I get that this is considered an acceptable take on this blog, but it’s a freaking sports blog - people who are die hard fans of a team are allowed to “care” If the better players on that team sit out, hence reducing the chance that their team will win the game.

Sure, adults are free to make whatever decisions they want to, but we as fans are entitled to have opinions on those decisions.

It can be a big deal. Fairly troubling red flag for any team wanting to compete for titles.

However, we are already aware of the lack of depth at DT so that red flag is waving high already so unless there are more unexpected departures, prob not a bid deal for M.  I'm all for trying to shore up depth there in an attempt to turn it from a potentially major problem spot to functional.

You do wonder if this means they're not confident they'll get many more guys they want in February such that they'll have open scholarships.

Other than that and maybe LB (Glasgow backing up Gil was highly concerning), I like our returners at every position group.

In the past few years Michigan football has kicked the tires on the obvious GT options that every other major program has also monitored.  The lineman from bama, or the trio from Ole Miss etc.  However, this year with a few unexpected departures each coach has been tasked with identifying possible GT's that could make an impact in their respected positional group for 2019.  Speaking with a great friend who is now the recruiting coordinator at a MAC school, and was on JH 2015/16 support staff he said this is much different than 2015/16.

EW already has a kid he wants, and so does CP.

As someone who grew up in the era of cartoons that were really made for adults (Warner Bros, Flintstones), hilariously violent (Tom and Jerry), or weirdly funny (George of the Jungle, Super Chicken), I couldn't stand the whole Casper family of cartoons. They were like a lollipop dipped in sugar and covered with whipped cream: so sweet it would make you upchuck.

Edit: And Bullwinkle ... brilliantly weird.

Very interesting.  Thanks for the info.  The recruiting coordinator at a MAC school - I assume you are talking about AK.  If so, when he say "much different", I hope he means in a good way.

When you say unexpected departures, are you referring to those that are upcoming that we don't know already know about?  Or are you referring to those in the past (i.e. JH, AS, etc.)?

awesome news!  Glad to see him come back to a very young defense with lots of potential to be a leader on and off the field.  He would be my guess to be voted captain next season as well
