Sugar Bowl - Georgia v. Texas

Mates,

Last bowl game except for the CFP's, Georgia v. Texas in the Sugar Bowl.  Georgia is a 13 1/2 pt favorite.

Who is your pick, with or without the points, and who do you want to win?

Happy New Year,

I think Texas is going to get turned around pretty quick (they beat their rival this year), but not quick enough to beat an established Georgia.

I always thought Michigan should have taken a chance on Tom Herman.  He was an up and comer and it would have been a great scenario battling against his former mentor coach (much like Bo vs Woody).  Although I can understand once Harbaugh became available it was impossible to look anywhere else.  I really think long term Herman will end up being a much better College coach than Harbaugh.

Harbaugh has won at multiple levels of football.  That is certainly one of the best indicators of how well he will do at Michigan.  He has significantly improved MIchigan since he got here (remember 5-7 anyone).

Given all that, I think he can do well at Michigan, as in beating Ohio at least two out of five and winning the B1G one out of three.

However, it is unclear if he WILL do well at Michigan.  He HAS to improve the team for 2019.  No more fucking 20+ point blowouts.  Period.

Would love to see Texas take it, but I have to say that the longer I sit with our last two lousy, lousy bowl games the unhappier I feel about the preparation, time management, and lack of dynamism on offense.

Those howling for change should understand with everyone else that the test is coming soon enough. Next year is the acid test for Harbaugh and the offense.

Well, for me personally, the time may well be coming.  I am becoming a casual fan of college football as in not watching any bowls this year except for Michigan's game.

So, the idea of saying, don't like it, don't watch, is not some sort of incantation.  People did stop buying tickets in the RR and Hoke periods.  And if Michigan gets blown out by OSU again next year, you might be surprised at how bad season ticket sales and TV ratings drop for Michigan.

It's the test because

a) the last two years we leaned on the D in a way we can't next year

b) Shane should have the offense completely mastered and a ton of weapons to use

c) a tough schedule sets up favorably for wins against major opponents at home

and d) because although the hotheads, twisted knicker and under-seven crowd want blood to flow NOW, that ain't happening with ten wins in three out of five. But better must come.
