Well, we did beat them in EL and they hadn’t sunk into complete suck mode as they are displaying today. We gave them the 7 points they scored. This is one ugly game trending to nil-nil at the half.

We did roll them. Scores don’t tell the whole story. Their defense is legit and I think we were too conservative on offense but we were in complete control of that game from start to finish. One mistake - the Evans fumble near our own goal line - gave MSU false hope. But that game was an easy win.

And this is the "healthier" MSU team. Lewerke didn't even practice the week leading up to the game and 4 of the top 6 WRs were out. If you noticed, there were receivers still somehow getting open but the MSU QB couldn't hit the broadside of the barn that day.

Jim Leavitt, who is being paid $1.7 million annually, is Oregon's DC, and has been mentioned as a possible alternative that Harbaugh considered for DC. (He has also interviewed for HC jobs, like Texas Tech.) Oregon's defense ranked in the 60s in conventional stats and S&P+ this year. (Even after the OSU loss, our defense was ranked 5th in S&P+.)
