Remember the good times of 2018

Full disclosure.

The last two games sucked hard. But this season was full of a lot of fun.

Nobody can make the 3rd place jokes anymore because Michigan beat MSU, PSU and Wisconsin by a combined score of 101-27 this season. A lot of people said this schedule was impossible and predicted an 8-4 and even some as bad as a 7-5 season.

Great post!  The last 2games sucked but the projected record and what this team did was really an overachievement in my opinion.....but others may not remember it like that.....weed is now lawful to smoke...short term memory haha

As irritating as the Northwestern game became - and in a hurry, mind you - the fight involved in the comeback was something that I don't know we had seen from many Michigan teams in a while. I don't know about others, but I did smile at the "never quit" and the scratching and clawing and eventually winning that one.

Wisconsin and MSU were 7-5.  I'm glad we beat them but those arent great records.

Northwestern was 8-4, lost to Duke and Akron.  Dont let the fact that they won a terrible division cloud your judgement.

PSU at 9-3 is a nice win, especially given how we blew them out.

We were pretty bad last year but it doesn’t prevent the teams who beat us from calling it a good win.  It is a good win for them to beat us any year and it was good for us to beat Wisconsin, MSU, and Penn State this year.

I hate how the year ended but there were some good wins and good times this year.  I understand I have a choice how to spend my money and time and I will continue to choose spending money and time on all things University of Michigan.  There will be ups and downs but I will continue to support because the entire university means so much to me.  Maybe someday it will change but not because of how many games the football team wins or loses.

I mean I would compare it more to asking a girl out she says no (ND) it doesn’t go well with her BF, she agrees to go out with you (games 2-11), then you plan to bring her home to your parents finally just to find her Thanksgiving weekend sleeping with the dude you hated in high school (OSU), and then you think you’re back on good terms and she’s caught sleeping with the guy you bullied for 3 years in high school (Florida).

Any Michigan post that says “Remember the good times of 2018” that does not have Mo Wagner breaking Nick Ward’s ankles in it is invalid.

Good stuff WD. I will carry several good memories from this season. The steamrolling of Wisconsin, PSU, and MSU was extremely fun. The last two games will unfortunately stick around too - but I will endeavor to invest more energy in remembering the 10 straight wins.

Good Times
Any time you meet a payment
Good Times
Any time you need a friend
Good Times
Any time you're out from under
Not getting hassled, not getting hustled
Keepin' your head above water
Making a way when you can
Temporary layoffs
Good Times
Easy credit rip-offs
Good Times
Scratchin' and surviving
Good Times
Hanging in and jiving
Good Times
Ain't we lucky we got 'em

As a fan, my goal as each new season starts is that we play for, and win, championships. As a dad, my goal is to make great memories with my 9 year-old son along the way. In 2018, we went to LA for the sweet 16 and got to watch the men’s basketball team rip through both opponents on their way to the final four and the national championship game. We also attended 3 football games in the big house against Nebraska, Penn St., and Indiana and a men’s soccer game as an unplanned bonus this fall. Michigan won all those games, which was awesome.

What was even more awesome was sharing those experiences with my kid. The crowds, the atmosphere, singing the victors, the big plays, and the thrill of competition. The planes, trains, hotels, and sense of adventure. Creating great memories.

As a fan, we fell short in 2018. As a dad, 2018 kicked ass. Bring on 2019 and Go Blue!

What bothers me the most about what you rightfully call the "posters here [who] act like spoiled toddlers" is their anger. Not disappointment, not sadness, but anger and utter hatred. I suspect -- and certainly hope -- that they are a small minority of Michigan fans and, especially (assuming with no basis that they are fellow alumni) Michigan grads.
