OT: Classic Detroit Lions

Submitted by Robbie Moore on December 30th, 2018 at 5:45 PM

Is there anything more predictable than the Lions finishing a typically shitty season by winning in Green Bay 31-0? Knowing the stellar decision making the Lions are known for, they will probably think that Pep on the sidelines was the difference and hire him to replace Jim Bob.

A man can hope....

Sucks 2 teams that beat us drafting ahead of us. Lions being Lions.

8th should still get us a good player.

Classic lie downs move is to lose all season, have no shot at the playoffs and then win meaningless games at the end of the season thereby screwing  themselves out of  high draft picks.

On one hand, FTP. Rogers can't play forever, let the hits pile up. Packers deserve 30 years of terrible QB play.

On the other hand, they're not drafting as high anymore but you know some teams are going to reach for a QB and other highly touted players will fall because of it.

Lions “lost” three slots. They still have a great shot at an impact player.

It’a like people on here don’t understand how deep NFL drafts are. Every year impact players are found in all rounds.

It comes down to scouting.

I HATE this organization. They can't do anything right... even losing.

I was very happy yesterday watching Alabama's Williams or  Clemson's Ferrell yesterday thinking how nice they would look in Honolulu Bluewith our top 5 draft pick.

Now we will probably trade down  now and take a punter from MSU.

Let see who they get at 8 first, and who they could have gotten at 5.

I am a Lion lifer at this what if game. check out http://www.tankathon.com/nfl

Mock picks....If we can get Ferrell at 8 I'd be happy. Ansah needs to go or cost a whole lot less.

Julian Love from ND would be a great second round pick.

Rashan Gary dropped a bit.  Too much of a gamble for a top 10 pick IMO.

Devin Bush going to the Bears would be a great late 1st round pick for them and the Lions would never score on that defense.

It is pretty impressive to beat GB on the road and to shut them out 31-0. That must be some kind of record, given Detroit's dismal road game record at GB.

The OP has a shitty point of view and I hope he doesn’t consider himself a Lions fan. Yes they suck and have screwed up royally with some draft picks but tanking to improve your spot when you’ll already get a top 10 pick is the definition of loserdom. In the words of Herm Edwards, “you play to win the game” and this team needed something to feel good about. Even if it was against a hapless, Aaron Rodgers-less Packers team.

So OP, please don’t take the easy way out and shit on a team/fan base that already knows it sucks and is trying to just play football.

The lions could have been in the playoff race if Mathew did not have a few bad games.  They should have beaten the Jets and 49ers. I think if Matt did not throw the pick 6 against Chicago at home on T-day, we have won. Even though they finished 6-10, they should have been 9-7. I guess I'm more optimistic about the Lions being in playoff contention next season.

Winning today will be a good thing, in the long run. The 5th pick in the 2018 draft signed for $27.6 million .The 8th pick signed for $18.7 million . I would much rather have the 8th pick . Top 5 get the big deals .

Wouldn’t matter anyway they’ll screw the draft up no matter where they draft, Bob Quinn drafted a long snapper once the draft yes a long snapper I don’t need to say anymore!
