Oklahoma wins only if Murray goes off.
December 29th, 2018 at 8:13 PM ^
I think even with that they'll need some help from Alabama ... a few turnovers helps OU's chances.
EDIT -- and just like that, Alabama obliges.
EDIT 2 -- the football gods are smiling on Alabama ...
December 29th, 2018 at 8:27 PM ^
Looking at the 4 teams in the playoff, it is a "well duh!!!" observation, but man you have to have an incredible QB. One that is athletic as all get out. We need to get more Dudes that fit that mold on our roster.
December 29th, 2018 at 8:41 PM ^
?
We have multiple guys that fit that mold. Qb play has not been a problem this year and won’t be going forward. Continue to throw shade though, your choice.
???〽️
December 29th, 2018 at 9:05 PM ^
We have multiple guys that fit the mold of Trevor Lawrence, Kyler Murray or Tua? You are speaking of Michigan right?
Shae played as an above average B10 QB, but was far from being a top tier QB nationally. McCaffrey looks to be the real deal but has yet to start a game. Not gonna say he is up to Tua levels until he plays an entire game.
December 29th, 2018 at 9:05 PM ^
No we don’t , not even close ... This is the FURTHEST thing from true our QB play is atrocious compared to what these teams have
December 29th, 2018 at 8:50 PM ^
What is needed is a truly elite O line, not just one that is "improved." Shea was conditioned to feeling constant pressure from the ND game, and continued to feel it throughout most of the season. It affected his play. The running game also suffered. Should have been able to run between the tackles at will. Never could.
December 29th, 2018 at 9:10 PM ^
Shea just isn’t that good of a QB ... I mean he’s serviceable but he’s not someone who NFL scouts are drooling over
December 29th, 2018 at 9:10 PM ^
The running game suffered today due to talent, not O Line play. Wilson, Turner and Evans are not talented enough. If Charbonnet doesn't come in and light it up we are in trouble at this position. Wilson, Turner and Evans are not going to cause DC's of ND or OSU to worry.
December 29th, 2018 at 8:04 PM ^
Marquise Lee has more receiving yards than all our WRs combined.
December 29th, 2018 at 8:11 PM ^
The WR for the Jaguars?
December 29th, 2018 at 8:17 PM ^
Just a random stat. Apparently pros are better than college athletes.
December 29th, 2018 at 8:04 PM ^
We need Oklahoma to win to save college football from another Alabama and Clemson final.
December 29th, 2018 at 8:07 PM ^
LIke another thread today suggested, perhaps if we move some bowls to August, we can move the Alabama / Clemson game there too and simply be done with it.
December 29th, 2018 at 8:55 PM ^
I do wonder if there's any concern in the halls of power about Alabama winning year after year like this. If the same two or three teams are in the playoff ever year, people can't help but tune the whole thing out.
December 29th, 2018 at 8:10 PM ^
7 of the 9 playoff semis have been decided by three scores or more.
Make it 8 of 10
December 29th, 2018 at 8:10 PM ^
I’m rooting for the Sooners.
December 29th, 2018 at 8:25 PM ^
Me too, but, at this point, the football fan inside of me kind of hoping for a Clemson vs Bama title game.
December 29th, 2018 at 11:33 PM ^
The football fan inside of me hates the football fan inside of you.
December 29th, 2018 at 8:11 PM ^
Please let Oklahoma win.
No one besides their own fans wants to see Alabama-Clemson again.
December 29th, 2018 at 8:12 PM ^
Harbaugh would’ve ran the HB dive on that first down.
December 29th, 2018 at 8:13 PM ^
Lincoln Riley fired Mike Stoops midway through the season for this atrocious defense. OU won’t be a walkover on d for long
December 29th, 2018 at 11:35 PM ^
"OU won’t be a walkover on d for long"
Based on what?
December 29th, 2018 at 8:13 PM ^
Teams that play offense AND defense > teams that only play one
December 29th, 2018 at 8:14 PM ^
Alabama feels like they're already playing with their food and it's only been a minute of gametime.
Oklahoma's defense isn't going to do anything against Alabama.
December 29th, 2018 at 8:15 PM ^
How can Saban change Alabama’s offensive scheme in one season but UM in year four can’t figure out what to do?
December 29th, 2018 at 8:23 PM ^
Because our coaches don't think anything has to change.
December 29th, 2018 at 9:19 PM ^
This. Correct. You first have to admit something is wrong before you can change it.
Apparently, according to his press conference, we are at good but just need to get over the top. We will just prepare harder and work harder and it will all change. He's starting to sound like a Hoke press conference now...minus all the Fred Flinstone bumbling.
December 29th, 2018 at 8:25 PM ^
Because Saban is 100x better college coach than Harbaugh
December 29th, 2018 at 8:26 PM ^
He didn't change it over a year; Kiffin started it 2 years ago when Hurts came on board. This year it went into overdrive and that's a credit to Saban.
December 29th, 2018 at 9:11 PM ^
No, he adjusted to a run-heavy RPO with Hurts, then a year later to a pass heavy, 3- to 4-wide system with Tua. Tus is mobile, so be runs, but they are not the same Onas they were with Hurts.
Harbaugh cannot commit to a pass first spread, no matter how much he tries. See the ND game. I’m a big fan of JH, but his stubbornness is either going to get him fired/moving on or a NC in 2019.
He alread said after this game he did not anticipate staff changes. If true, next year is make or break. Too many fans and media with Bama-like expectations.
December 29th, 2018 at 9:46 PM ^
So...exactly what I said? Kiffin started the transition with Hurts because Alabama before him was a very classic Greg McElroy/AJ McCarron-type QB situation; they threw the ball but it was mostly a run-under-center offense that tried to minimize turnovers. Alabama threw the ball 382 times and 255 times with Hurts as QB the first two years. Sure, it helped that Hurts was a run threat, but Kiffin also threw the ball with the likes of Jake Coker and Blake Simms far more aggressively than Saban had did under past OCs.
I agree about Harbaugh seemingly not committing to the more open offensive philosophy. How much of that is on him and how much is on Hamilton and the rest of the OC is up for debate, but it needs to change. I think he'll make changes to the staff; Harbaugh said basically the same thing after last year and then Drevno was gone. I don't think Hamilton deserves all the blame for the past two weeks; the scheme they had against OSU probably works out better if the defense had held up better against OSU. But he's been here a long enough time that we've seen what he brings to the table and it's time to move on to someone who will either demand more control over the offense or convince Harbaugh to let it rip.
December 29th, 2018 at 11:05 PM ^
yes. staff changes don't take place in a presser in response to reporter questions.
December 29th, 2018 at 8:15 PM ^
Bahahaha fumble
December 29th, 2018 at 8:17 PM ^
That’ll be overturned because... Alabama.
December 29th, 2018 at 8:26 PM ^
He was clearly down. What do you want, blown calls?
December 29th, 2018 at 8:20 PM ^
Can we change the replay rule to you get 90 seconds to make a decision or the call stands? 30 seconds in basketball.
December 29th, 2018 at 8:20 PM ^
Oklahoma gonna die
December 29th, 2018 at 8:24 PM ^
This is going to be a blowout.
December 29th, 2018 at 8:24 PM ^
I would love if either one of these QBs was at Michigan
December 29th, 2018 at 8:54 PM ^
Our staff would have moved Murray to Viper
December 29th, 2018 at 8:25 PM ^
Alabama player just a slit throat celebration. How is that not a flag?
December 29th, 2018 at 8:26 PM ^
Florida - Michigan replay right here.
December 29th, 2018 at 8:28 PM ^
It may be worse than that. At least Michigan had a lead.
December 29th, 2018 at 8:27 PM ^
Alabama is two-deep with five-star athletes in every position.
Nobody can compete with that.
Stars really matter.
December 29th, 2018 at 8:32 PM ^
Only if you know how to use them.
We've been out-recruiting Florida for years.
December 29th, 2018 at 8:38 PM ^
Stars don’t mean much for Michigan. We don’t even know how to utilize our 5 stars properly.
December 29th, 2018 at 8:45 PM ^
Rashan Gary was suppose to be the greatest d lineman recruit in years. I saw nothing in his 3 years and then he quits and doesn’t want to play in the bowl game. No Michigan man. Give me 11 chase Winovich’s over that.
December 29th, 2018 at 8:54 PM ^
From watching the Amazon series I have no doubt Rashan wants to play and win, but he didn't see the risk/reward in playing in the bowl game.
It sucks but people do what they are incentivized to do and the current system means non-playoff games just aren't as compelling as bowls used to be.
That said, I would love 11 Chase's - he's got a ton of heart and love for our school.
December 29th, 2018 at 9:02 PM ^
Dude Chase is only relevant BECAUSE OF Rashan. Chase didn’t do shit in the four games without Gary
