Merry Christmas: name one thing you're thankful for, highlight of 2018, and one goal for 2019!

Doesn't have to be football or basketball-related. Let's get deep!

Non-sports related here....

The highlight of 2018 was getting the opportunity to experience a bit of career renewal by moving back to a position that I had previously and was happier in.

One goal for 2019 is finally getting off the rest of the meds from my health scare back in 2015 and finally moving on from a rather jarring episode in my life.

Ive made a similar move in my career as well.  Sometimes it's just needed.  I voluntarily did it and couldn't be happier.  I know that i can't stay there forever and I'll have to move on,  but I'm enjoying it and learning as much as i can. I hope it works out the way you'd like it to. Cheers.

Thankful for our little girl on the way in June.  We found out about a month after we accepted the fact that it would never happen.

A very Merry Christmas to all and peace on Earth!

I am thankful for learning the difference between “your” and “you’re.” Goal for 2019 is to get a vasectomy.

EDIT: Another goal is TRY to not care about the results of a football game anymore. After seeing UM get punked by OSU (yet...again...), I really started to wonder why I care so much. I’ll never miss a UM football game for as long as I live, but I feel that I need to stop caring so much.

It's not about caring, it's about putting things into perspective, I've found. Win or lose, it doesn't do anything to you that you don't allow. Yeah, the loss was a bitter pill to swallow but I stepped back and involved myself in different things. Because I could.

Good luck with that vasectomy thing! The wife is fixed so there isn't a need for me to get it done. Hopefully...

like arrows in the hand of a mighty warrior, so are the children of one's youth.  happy is the man whose quiver is full, he shall not be afraid, but shall speak with the enemy at the gate.

with this new format i can't tell who this post is for.  but given your other post, it is ironic:  i think he has at least 4 children.

Yep. Only way to make it a little easier to determine for whom a reply is to turn your phone to landscape view. Other than that, it’s almost impossible to determine for whom replies are. Quote replies are needed. See the 247 forums for how lovely they are. I absolutely hate indented replies.

I'm thankful for my family's happiness and...oh, you just said one thing. Favorite highlight of 2018, I'm going with the unexpected dismantling of North Carolina, that was pretty cool. One goal for 2019, pass the BCPS the first time around; it happens less than 50% of the time...

Thankful for my amazing wife and my two kids.

Great memory from 2018 - going to the final two games of the Big Ten Bball Tourney at MSG (I live in NY) with the family - such a great environment to watch our boys win the big ten.

Second great memory from 2018 - coaching my son’s b-ball team (middle school age) to the league championship game. We lost but the run to that game was so much fun for me and boys.

Goals for 2019:

1. Lose 15 pounds of fat. I lift a ton and have more muscle than I ever did (even when I considered entering a natural bodybuilding competiion in my 20s) but as I’ve crossed over 40, I’ve put on bad 15 pounds that Just have to go.

2. I really want to see Michigan even out the OSU rivalry. Needs to start this year.

I'm thankful for the love of a good woman who is smart, funny, kind, and supportive. I'm also thankful that she has questionable taste in men.

Oddly, I can't think of a highlight of 2018. (That's not meant to sound as pathetic as it does.) So I guess my goal for 2019 is to have an answer to that question next year.

Merry Christmas, everybody. Peace.

I’m thankful for my happy and healthy family, and my 2018 highlight was definitely the addition of our first child on 11/27.

Goals for 2019 are to learn how to be a good parent and get into shape!

Merry Christmas everyone! Cheers!

I'm thankful for my health. In live in Fort Myers Florida and at 74 I walk 2 hours every morning and every other day I'm at the gym for a 50 minute workout with weights...The Highlight would be my visit back to Michigan to spend sometime with my kids last summer...My goal for 2019 is to stay healthy and strive to be a better person everyday

Easy.  I’m thankful for my wife and 3 boys. I thought Christmas was exciting as a kid but nowhere near as exciting as seeing my kids full of uncontrollable joy and excitement Christmas morning. And my wife, she just puts up with my emo-self through football season.  Not sure how she does it.

2018 trip to Italy with wifey was fantastic. 1/4 work and 3/4 vacay.

2019 goal - same as always, lose weight and less mgoblog.

Merry Christmas all!  Go blue!

Highlight of 2018:  There were so many wonderful moments, but my 4 year old daughter scoring 5 goals in her first ever soccer game was pretty awesome, as was tailgating with my parents and friends for the Wisconsin game.

I'm thankful for my family, my wife, 2 daughters, and my son.  God bless them.

I'm grateful God sent us his only child on this day ~2000 years ago.

Higlight of 2018: not getting the head coaching position I wanted, but ended up in a brotherhood of a coaching staff that has blessed me many times over in a short time.

UofM highlight - DPJ touchdown against lil bro and the Paul Bunion after!

2019: Drop another 40 lbs. Down 120 in last five years.
