What are states googling on Christmas?

I thought the board would like Ohio’s answer!

Here are the most Googled queries in each state around Christmastime - BGR

Michigan: “Amazon.com”

Ohio: “Where to buy coal”

Some others are interesting as well.

Ha, so California's is "Is Starbucks open on Christmas." I just had a twenty minute discussion with my wife about whether In and Out Burger would be open on XMAS, as we are driving to Southern California after opening presents.

I believe there’s an autocorrect error for Ohio’s.  Should be;

”Where to buy cooler”

Everyone deserves a nice, new, clean shitter for Christmas.  Right, Clark?

Why would anyone google “amazon.com?” It’s faster to either 1) click the Amazon link in your favorites bar or 2) use command/control L and type amazon.com.

EDIT: I see I am not the only one confused.

Keyboard commands are the way to go. They’re much faster than using the mouse or track pad. I recommend researching them online. You don’t need to learn all of them (I don’t know all of them), but think of the things you do most when browsing (or working) and see if there are keyboard commands for that. The keyboard makes my job get done quicker, too. Basically, the command/control button is your best friend when using keyboard commands.

West Virginia...wow.

My state (NC) doesn't know what Christmas is and GA and SC are trying to shop on Christmas.  We all getting kicked out of the bible belt this year!

If these results are real (very highly questionable) then it just shows the intelligence level across the US. I call BS though.

1. This survey was allegedly taken by some outfit called "satelliteinternet.com," which appears to be simply a consortium of satellite internet providers. For the US, there's only two.

2. "Instead, we gathered a list of popular Christmas-related internet searches and used Google Trends to match those searches with the states googling them on December 25, 2017."

3. Any survey claiming that searching for coal isn't #1 in West Virginia instead of Ohio, and that searching for Wal-Mart isn't #1 in Arkansas, where it's based, is bunk.

4. Any survey alleging that porn isn't the #1 search everywhere in the country is even bigger bunk.

In 2015, the top five states for residential coal heating were Pennsylvania, New York, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Indiana.

Ohio has over 11.5 million people, and as of 2015 Ohio had less than 5000 homes heated with coal. Do you honestly believe it's likely that more people would be searching for where to buy coal than for dozens of other topics?

TF is wrong with Wyoming? California isn't very surprising, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey have the right idea, but I'm calling Montana the winner, here.

There is no way that Kentucky is searching for Planet Fitness hours. It’s the 46th “fittest” state in the union. I get that it’s a judgement free zone, but they’re only googling that to know when to avoid strip malls or something.
