Lamar Jackson is going to have to learn how to throw the ball from the pocket more consistently.

I'm sure he knows this, and I know the staff does; the run-heavy Jackson offense isn't supposed to be a sustainable model for the future. It is supposed to win games in a must-win year with what attributes their QB has now. 

I hope it works out.

Lamar was actually pretty good in the pocket. He doesn't take off running at first sign of pressure. He just need to get used to the speed of the game and work on his mechanics. His ability to cycle through progressions and read defense is pretty solid.

They just used him a lot in running game and the Ravens run game took off with former Rutgers RB, Gus Edwards, getting yards.

During Lamar Jackson's stint as the starter he has faced the 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th, 30th, 31st, and last ranked defenses.  None of those defenses were even top half against the run.  Now they travel cross country to play the only team in the nfl that is top 10 in both total offense, and total defense.  I want to see what transpires when Baltimore gets down 10+ points.  

I like the Chargers to humble the young man.  23-14

Going forward Lamar needs to get better in the pocket bc the way he is winning is not sustainable in the long run.  In the off-season I would travel around the football landscape and put together a system molded around Lamar and his skill set.

Meh. John stuck with Flacco for wayyyy too long probably due to sunk cost fallacy. His RB rotation has been inexplicable over the last few years. The organization has been horrendous at evaluating WR talent. They drafted a TE in first round and he has barely seen the field (albeit coming off an injury). He's only had one 10 win season in the last six years. He's just not as consistent of a coach when compared to Jim.

I know most of the people here are lions fans but it wasn’t that big of a deal to let harbaugh go. If they don’t win out and make the playoffs this year it will be the first 4 year drought in the playoffs since the first 4 years they existed. Billick got fired a year removed from a 13-3 season because he missed the playoffs 3 of 4 years and the ravens got harbaugh and a Super Bowl. Sometimes change can be good and Baltimore has stagnated over the last few years stuck in 9-7 and 8-8 purgatory.

Probably a slow transition move.

Ozzie Newsome the long time GM is going. It maybe the owners don't want to complete change at the major positions in one year - He helped build some of their better teams and he's had a decent 16 year run but this maybe just a transition move. If Harbaugh suddenly gets a good run next year, he'll keep going especially if the QB situation suddenly looks good.

BUT if this turns out to be just a mirage and Jackson regresses ... then the GM DeCosta now with a year under his belt will probably go with a new person.
