Im sure a lot have read it now, curious as to what people think about that? I havnt watched much tape on fields is he more passer or runner or a true dual threat, I know he was #2 overall behind trevor Lawrence. And fields why not stay at uga and try to beat out fromm….

In a class, I read a case study where his mom went to a bunch of banks to try to get a loan to start her cookie business. After being turned down by all of the banks, she asked the last guy what was going on. He said her husband called ahead to tell them to deny her loan. She had no idea. Just think what would have happened if Fields' douchebag dad was successful in stopping this business from ever being created.

Yeah not sure how he would qualify for that... Shea had to go through a long process with good reason to get his granted.

I personally think it'd be a bad landing spot for him. Even if he does get immediate eligibility, he'll have to compete with Martell who has more experience in the system. If he has to sit a year, he'll have to beat out an returning starter... In that case he would be better off staying at Georgia, playing if Fromm gets hurt next year, and becoming the starter the year after.

If he's going for a playing time transfer, at least do it to a destination you know you'll be the starter... That's what Kelly Bryant was smart enough to do.

Seems sketchy that he would get a waiver - not closer to home for “family” reasons, and I don’t think a coach “lying” to you about playing time ranks up there with the campaign of lies that freed Shea and the other ‘Ole Miss players.

Still it is OSU, and given our recent run of luck I will choose to expect it to happen and be pleasantly surprised If it doesn’t.

Fields was the #1 Dual-Threat QB in the class last year.  From what I've heard from UGA blogs is that Fields didn't look all that great and Fromm elevated his game at the end of the season.  Maybe Fields doesn't want to wait another year.  I don't know.  Seems like a odd thing to be doing when you knew what you were getting yourself into when you committed.

As for OSU, who cares.  At this point, OSU could plug in a walk-on QB and he could still ball it up in that system.  I'd prefer Tate for the next three years.

Is he a good passer, because Ryan Day seems to prefer a passer over more of a dual threat guy. I say this only because of the kid they have coming in from Oak Park (Dwan Mathis) (edit He flipped to Georgia)

He tried to beat out Fromm and couldn't.

UGA just flipped OSU's 2019 QB (Dwan Mathis), so I think Fields is absolutely a Buckeye and they are going to push hard to get him eligible immediately.

One guy on the baseball team calls you a bad name and that constitutes an entire "hostile environment" that you need to be protected from?

I'm sorry, that's a stretch.

There are assholes in corners at every school.  They don't define the entire school.

All the other GA players don't seem to be having "hostile environment" problems.  Only the ones that got beat out by Jake Fromm.

I thought it was just a wild rumor at first but it might be more now as it's being reported that Kirby Smart is now trying to sway OSU's 2019 QB commit Dwan Mathis to Georgia before he signs with OSU. Keep an eye on if Mathis signs today or not. Needless to say, Fields to OSU would not be a good thing for us

My thought is that he's got to sit out a year before Michigan would see him.  If he's really good,  they only have to see him once then.  I feel like he'd beat Martell, but i don't think Martell will ever throw a meaningful pass for ohio state.  I have some georgia friends that honestly aren't that high on fields, and naturally not too broken up about him leaving.  Honestly,  just to be safe,  I'd really like him to go to Oklahoma.

My OU buddy says Fields and 5-star GA WR Jadon Haselwood are a packaged deal.  Haselwood signed a financial aid package with OU and Miami.  If true, OSU is not in the running.  Feels like another OU transfer into that prolific offense.

OU's recruiting haul on offense is crazy good this year.

Not surprising.  No one poops gold more than the Buckeyes.   Lose your hall of fame coach to a lying and cheating scandal?  Oh look, there is another hall of fame coach just waiting on the sidelines who also happens to have huge OSU ties and a ton of free time to recruit.

Lose your second hall of fame coach after a scandal laiden year? Don't worry, you have a five star DE in Columbus waiting for you and now the #1 recruit who fits your offense waiting to transfer.  Its just gross, but such is life whilst in hell.

It would be terrible.  Fields is a much better QB than Martell and would be an excellent fit in Day's offense.  As Fred Jackson might say, "He passes like Dwayne Haskins and runs like J.T. Barrett."
