A toast to Jordan Battle

FL 4-star safety Jordan Battle flipped from Ohio State to Bama which had the dual effect of:

  • removing the #2 rated player in Ohio State’s class, and more importantly...
  • possibly pushing Dax Hill back to the good guys. There’s been lots of talk that Dax didn’t want to be part of a three-man safety class. Might not be that cut and dry but it certainly didn’t hurt.

Three cheers for Jordan Battle!

According to reports, Hill was already coming back either way. Still, any time a big time recruit  leaves OSU, it’s a good thing. So cheers to Mr Battle.

I think this is a very bad take. Otherwise, what a way to begin the day!!!!!!!!!!!! Dax was the biggest missing piece from this class. I remain shocked that this flip back actually happened. My day is made!!!

It's a nice thought!  But Devin has earned his shot, with aplomb.  He'll be a fun, game changing LB in the NFL, and whoever is smart enough to draft him will be getting an All-Pro player.  The only question is whether the DC will be innovative enough to use his strengths, or if he'll employ his new toy like Cleveland did with a rookie Peppers - foolishly?

I get the sense that the cause and effect was the other way:  Alabama got Battle because Hill was going back to Michigan after Saban got caught in his Harbaugh-to-the-NFL lie . . . not that Michigan got Hill back because Battle went to Alabama.

If he gets immediate eligibility for getting called names, no matter how revolting they may be, then every kid that wants to follow suit down the road need only have a buddy call him a goat fucker or some shit. I doubt very much he gets his wish.

That being said, wasn’t there talk of getting rid of that rule anyway? It’s a dumbass rule to begin with. Coaches and administrators are free to move around as they see fit.

Dax ain't afraid of no three-man safety class.  He's his own three-man safety class.
