OSU dropped 1.43 KenPom points after a 2 point win vs. an 18 point projection.  A similar drop for Michigan (8 point win vs 23 point projection) would put them 6th.

I'll still take an ugly win over a beautiful loss any day. :)

And, in fact, that's right about how much Michigan fell, taking into account the bump they had gotten from Villanova keeping it close with Kansas earlier.  They're now #6 in KenPom, and their expected Big Ten record dropped by a win, to 14-6, tied with MSU.  #3, and still 16-4, on Torvik, though.

It wasn't a well played game on Michigan's part. If that's a Big Ten game they lose with that performance for sure. But every team has this type of game once in a while (hence why every team loses at least a few games each season).

A win is good, I just wish we could have gotten some valuable time for Johns and DDJ.

WMU made a lot of garbage shots, especially Flowers. It will be a game Coach B can teach from and that is always a good thing.

Former 5 star point guard Quade Green, sophomore at Kentucky is transferring.  Shooting 42.3% from 3s this year but is a backup.  Hmmm...former five star from Kentucky transferring.  Where have I heard that before...

Worst career game for Iggy, might be the same for Teske and Livers. Still won, all that matters.

Z going 3/4 from 3 and Matthewz shooting ~70% on 16 FT attempts are welcome signs as well.

11-0. This team keeps finding a way to win. The D effort was there from start to finish. We missed a lot of easy looks. This game was an ugly ho-hum win for an elite team. Matthews made his free throws and Z made his open threes. Those two facts (along with the win) are greats positives at this point in the season.

That's why its nice to have balance. Several guys really struggled but Matthews really stepped up--after he was virtually non-existent in the Northwestern game.

Can't recall a game where we missed so many close shots from around the basket. Granted some of those were well-contested but sheesh. It did look like rust. Teske and Iggy both really looked out of it.

Props to Flowers. He's a Southfield kid but I'd never heard of him. Putting up 31 on Simpson is legit. And apparently he's been scoring all season. Surely a lot of B1G teams missed on him.

Not the best performance but it’s great to see that this team can find ways to win even when it has off days.

Better teams are ahead, but days like today are learning experiences. And we all know Beilein’s teams always start picking up steam in the second half of the season. That’s a scary thought for the rest of the Big Ten.

Iggy must have had a tough exam schedule ... frosh sometimes struggle with first term exam week.  Glad the seniors stepped up.  Wow, Z was hitting key 3's ... good team win right there.

The schedule seems to have played a part of this ugly win. The team was rusty, especially in the first half. They are only playing 6 games this month with a week off between these last three. I understand the necessity of playing so infrequently in December (final exams, holiday season), but it can create a lack of intensity and efficiency.

Further, the team has already played quite a few intense games (Villanova, NC, Purdue, NW), so this type of performance (ugly win) against a much lesser foe after a week off, is not very surprising. They will get into rhythm again soon.

Eh, glad we won, but you cannot miss the bunnies they did and expect to win against a B1G team. Livers looks unhappy out on the court, I don’t think he is very happy with his role or his play at the moment. Jordan Poole is the best player on the team, his defensive intensity was very impressive. Charles shooting 11/16 from the line was great too. It just came down to missing super easy shots which I hope we can clean up going forward.
