If you're like me, you're probably knee-deep in holiday concerts, parties and recitals right about now. But starting tomorrow, we resume our regularly scheduled programming with the New Mexico Bowl (and four others.) In the interim...

No WTF -- it's actually an exciting time for space.  Unless one works for Boeing and that fucking joke of a bloated pig of a job corps program called SLS.

There's no point in going to the moon.  The only reason to do so would to stage rockets for travel elsewhere.

That previous sentence is not in SpaceX's plans.  They can do it without a moon base.

Regarding space, Virgin Galactic is testing again and getting the design nailed down.

SpaceX is launching more routinely than the Shuttle ever could and the costs keep coming down.

At today's prices, and this will only get worse for the taxpayer, you can launch 15 times with SpaceX versus 1 time with SLS (SLS is currently pegged at $1.15 B per launch).

But that may not matter as SLS still isn't out of the PowerPoint stages with the gov't after 3 years.  By way of comparison, BFR is in the hangar being built right now!

The bowl games in the first week to week-and-a-half into this part of the season are almost always unwatchable. Many feature a bunch of 7-5 or 6-6 teams with 3,000 fans in attendance (that is probably overestimating) at shitty NFL stadiums with no character or college atmosphere whatsoever.
